Anyone here using the "Swiss ID" app and finds it pretty useless?

I went to all the hassle of downloading the app, verifying my identity, waited to get a confirmation code in the post etc. I thought it would save me time when logging into some Swiss sites, such as SwissPost, but actually it just adds another layer of password and user name inputting, and it's anyway possible to login with your account details.

All in all a waste of time! Anyone else have any experience of this?

There was a referendum some months ago about the issue. It lost. But, does it exist?

Without SwissID you cannot use any advanced functionality in the Post website, for instance (at least that's what the Post support team told me). I don't mind the extra security layer, but obviously YMMV.

This was something else. I'm referring to the app you can download on your phone which is supposed to make logging into various sites quicker and easier while at the same time proving you are who you say you are.

It's a real pain. Haven't signed up for SwissID, but can no longer do post hold online. Now have to go into the main post office and do it in person plus costs 3x what it does online.

Re: Anyone here using the "Swiss ID" app and finds it pretty useless?

yeah, I hate it how it is implemented on post.ch:
1. login
2. login with the old user name / psw
3. no, you must login with swiss id
4. user name /psw
5. you haven't change your pasw for XYZ days (yeah, I know)
6. affirm it through on the phone
7. type the pin code
thank you, now I can agree that you drop the letter directly into my post box
