Supporting England in the Euros

I may be premature, but I am predicting a potential England versus Italy final in the euros football. I do love Italy, but I will be supporting England as a born and bred Londoner. Has anybody got any advice where in Ticino we can find a friendly pub or bar to watch the game, the semi-final later this week and potentially the final on Sunday?

Ticino’s a big place, care to narrow it down a bit?

I once watched a football game Serbia-Switzerland in a stadium. I sat amongst the Serbs on their side (because it was a Serbian who talked me into coming along) and chanted for the Swiss. The first time I got a few confused looks from them but then they ignored it.

So what's your problem? Stand up for your believes!

Well good luck folks!

My neighbour bets on Italy with a HUGE flag that's been hanging up there for at least two weeks. Never mind, he bet on Spain with the same size flag next to it.
Let's hope he's not always right

Re: Supporting England in the Euros

Azurri were impressive and I think England too. Both teams made each other suffer at times. England matched Italy and Italy England. Both teams were aggresive, technical, composed, but also fiery and ragged at times. What an epic match. Three hours of second-to-second drama really takes it out of you. The referee kept it flowing. Both teams were prepared to foul when needed, like when Chiellini took out Saka by the neck to stop an atatck. Hernerson had done something similar if less kung fu moments before. High stakes nailbiting stuff. Kane was excellent, all over the pitch. Southgate AGAIN with the interesitng in play tactical variation and substitution switch up. ALso I dont think ive ever seen a manager bring on attackers right before the penalties. what about Maguire's penalty!!! What agreat penalty that was! The penalty shoot out swung one way and then the other. A truly epic final from the first whistle. I wont sleep for a few hours now with the adrenalinne.

Well done Italy - on balance probably the stronger team.

Nevertheless really proud of England and actually bothered watching football for the first time in 20 years. Team full of kids too...

Re: Supporting England in the Euros

England wasted their chance by parking the bus. They should have attacked more as Italy were shell shocked. Weather, home fans, early goal, some really quick attackers, it was a wasted opportunity.

Chiellini put in a shift at age 36!!! Another 36 year old won the Goldem boot! Siiii

Re: Supporting England in the Euros

I know what you mean but otoh I dont htink it's so easy to say that. Actually I thoguht that England scored and stayed on the front front, remained agressive and searched for another goal. Honeslty I dont see where you saw Enlgand parking thebus. In the ten minutes after Enlgand scored and Italy were a bit upset, I thought England were indeed attacking and aggresive, but its not easy to just go up and score another and because they didnt call it a wasted opportunity. Italy got their compsure back an still Engloand were agresive and forward thinking as much as could be, which isnt easy , because of course Italy are a great side who can control games too. IMO it was a total ding dong and both sides had their moments. Neither side can be criticised negatively when you have a thriller like that, never give up attitudes all over, and a game decided on pens

Re: Supporting England in the Euros

First half Italy where there for the taking. I was watching on Swiss TV and the commentator said "England don't want to play anymore, Italy want to play but don't know how". He also said that England were playing a very dangerous game of sitting back etc.

Offcourse it is easy for me to say and Italy played their heart out but chances like these don't come too often. The stars were nicely aligned for England. Anyway it is only a game. Italy had all against them and they still fought back.
