coop.ch censors comment/review on their products

When you comment/rate/review a Migros product, the review gets published immediately and is available on its website/app.

Last week I tried writing 2 reviews for coop.ch. one I have given a 1 star and the other a 4 stars. After clicking "submit", the website says it will be reviewed and published in 24 hours.

Till today none of the 2 can be seen online. I have written hundrends of reviews on Amazon/Migros/Google and they never got deleted or even modified because I don't write offensive or crazy things. The Coop censorship is a bit surprising for me. Anyone else has similar experience?

In the past when it comes to a food product I have never tried or don't know at all, I generally refer to the online review, looks like the reviews on Coop.ch are biased then.

star ratings is just a load of happy-crappy. Absolutely meaningless. You simply cannot believe them. Donít waste your time.

Suggest you try your luck on the famous ďTages-AnzeigerĒ CIF. Once they red-flag you, not a single comment of yours will be published. An intern over the WE might let something slip through but donít feel surprised if itís been deleted a day later Ė together with any follow up comments
=> if you're really concerned, check their conditions - they aren't bound to reflect your opinion and have no obligation to discuss it

So because your reviews didn't turn up after 2 days you think it's censorship?

Really? My total amount of online purchases is probably still in the 20s. My wife, 20 a month.

And I always thought that all these reviews are totally bogus.

Try writing a couple of very nice 5 star reviews.
And then a couple more of less than 5.

Your current sample size is kind of small....

Re: coop.ch censors comment/review on their products

it's their website, they can do whatever they want....

besides, on websites like this one there are usually few reviews and they are completely useless. I mean, how can you give star ratings to food? People like what they like.

Re: coop.ch censors comment/review on their products

I bought something off amazon.com once. Canít remember exactly what but it came in a small envelope. With the product was a hand written note appealing for me to make a 5 star review on the website. It also mentioned than anything other than 5 stars worked against them and pleaded to give them a 5 or not to rate them at all.

In my view:

1 ⭐️ Not up to expectations, some problem with timing, or service.
2 ⭐️ Close to expectations, but missing something.
3 🌟 Met expectations.
4 ⭐️ Exceeded expectations, something special.
5 ⭐️ Fantastic in every way, retailer went above and beyond.

But we seem to have decided that everything either deserves 5 ⭐️ or none.

As I said these ratings are completely useless, have been manipulated and should not be used.

Re: coop.ch censors comment/review on their products

I never look at the stars, but the comments can sometimes be useful.

For example, if it says the sizing is accurate, big or small, or some particular feature is good or bad when that's the feature I'm interested in.

Anything which has lots of reviews without (real) comments I assume has been astroturfed and is automatically suspect.

With this post I'm not sure if you're making a point in favour of star ratings, or commenting on their inaccuracy / bias.

This point has been argued before - local inspectors versus paid inspectors but in this case I'm merely stating that it is possible and normal to give star ratings to food.
