Traveling to Italy next week. Any secluded, beautiful place to reflect on life?

Pretty much the title. I am going to France (for surfing mainly) the to Italy to just sit in front of something natural, beautiful and relatively quiet to just reflect on life and enjoy the moment?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Ski resorts are a good place this time of year.

Food is so good anywhere in Italy, you can reflect anywhere you want...with a bit of local cuisine, etc. Otherwise - I liked Sicily the most I think.

Just avoid the coasts, they will be packed.

Mountains will be empty, nice views, generally secluded, with cheap rates, which is why I suggest ski regions.

Except for Alto Adige, unless you like German food.

Anyplace in Sardinia is good except for Costa Smeralda (overcrowded). Rent a motor boat in Cala Gonone and head south to one of the vacant beaches (In October was so, but not sure about midsummer). Can even stop at the Blue Maino and take a free tour of the cave.

Re: Traveling to Italy next week. Any secluded, beautiful place to reflect on life?

Mountains are good, but not the Alps: in summer they are overcrowded, plus the roaring of motorbikes is often unbearable.

If you can travel a bit from France, I would suggest the region near
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Sasso_d%27Italia
so you have both the sea and the mountains, but not so crowded.

I personally liked a lot Trieste, too, funny to see how Adriatic see can be clean and blue as well as how strong can be the Austrian influence on a marine city, beautiful hikes in no man's lands between Italy and Slovenia.

Not sure about that, Italy won’t generally be receiving so many visitors as it usually does so yes, I’m sure the coastal areas will be busy, just not packed.

Not sure the number of visitors makes much difference to the beauty of many Italian beaches - they still have regimented chairs and sun umbrellas from sea to shore, and your main choice is the separation (OK, tight, no gap) and the umbrella colour.

Looking at the ones on the left, at least you don't have to worry about sunburn as there's no gap between the umbrellas!

For a secluded beautiful place I'd rent somewhere in the hills of Tuscany or Umbria - you can get a villa and half an olive grove for the same price as a beachfront apartment.

They will be packed on the weekends for sure (with locals).

I didn’t think the locals did much packing myself anyway, maybe in the Venice region…

There a lots of public beaches in Italy where there is nothing but sand. You don't need to do the umbrella thing.
