| | Party last night. Shots fired.
There was a party going on at the local football club at Spiegelfeld, Binningen. Whether authorised by the club or not, we don't know.
Lots of loud music, cheering and shouting. I largely slept through it but my daughters were disturbed. Even with the windows shut, it was still very loud. At 1:30am, my daughter had enough enough and called the police. They said officers had already been dispatched.
My kids heard the police turn up, blowing whistles to get the party goers attention and addressing them through a megaphone. The crowd was pretty hostile and sounded very drunk. But reinforcements around and by 2:30am, the crowd had largely dispersed.
There were still some people around and police. At 3am. There was a gunshot, followed by angry shouting to "stop that". There was second gun shot and then silence. No ambulances turned up as far as we know, so looks like no one was hurt.
Anyone else witness/hear this incident? Participate?

Was it gunshot, or a firework?

I guess we'll never know for sure, unless arrests are made and it gets reported.

There was a report recently about an apartment fire in Geneva that nobody reported! It was spotted when somebody across the street posted the fire on facebook.
The authorities would much have over-reporting than no reporting.

The day will come when the police likes such a message and demands they keep posting. | Quote: | | | | | depends. the gunshot might have stopped the noise-maker. | | | | | Obviously.

I guess we'll never know for sure, unless arrests are made and it gets reported. | | | | | It's not that easy to tell the difference, especially from a distance:
I've heard 'fireworks' before when camping abroad on more that one occasion but when I've got out of my tent, it definitely wasn't fireworks.

In Switzerland the average citizen would still think of fireworks first. Including me. | The following 2 users would like to thank curley for this useful post: | |

That poor little toilet did nothing wrong.

Cops arrive, and eventually dispersed the crowd.
Some hung around, so did some cops.
Whatever the cause of the bangs, the police were right there.

.........> | | | | | Yes, seriously. When asked why she hadn't reported the fire, the woman who posted the photo on Facebook said she'd just assumed someone else in the watching crowd had already rung fire brigade. Presumably everyone else there assumed the same...... not an uncommon problem apparently.

If I walked up to a fire where people are already paying attention to it I would too expect that it is already reported.
Note to self: No normal reactions in society any longer, do ask whether it's been reported or even better take chance and annoy police by calling in.

'fully licensed' to keep a firearm in the house like a Shotgun for Clay Pidgeon shooting.
Of course were all aware of the long running thread 'a shooting occured ** fill in the blanks **' but surely the day will
come when guns 'of any sort' will be removed and banned from any form of civilian or public use.
