| | How does the laundry payment system work technically?
My apartment's laundry use prepaid magnetic card system from Technowash. The procedure is as follow https://ibb.co/4Vwkm1K
I want to understand how it works technically, I mean:
1. Does it charge a fix amount for every time the machine is used? Or by the time the machine run? or by the consumed electricity?
2. How does the Technowash machine determine that the washing session is finished? What does the "3 minutes" mention in the end of operation part in the instruction mean?
3. Sometime the washing is done but the Technowash still says "In Betrieb", what should I do to get it finish?
4. Sometime the machine finish one wash (ca. 1hr) and as the Technowash still "In Betrieb" I start another wash and it then turn the power off prematurely (30 minute early) so I have to slot the card in to turn the power back on. How to avoid that?
Thanks

Number 3 - I think you need to scan your card again at the end of the wash.

i had something like this. you might want to translate the instructions, but basically you have to put in the card twice, once at the beginning and then again after the washing is done.
i think it takes off a large amount of credit at the start and then reimburses at the end taking into account the electricity used, if you don't do the second insertion, then you don't get the reimbursement.
there was another EFer a few years ago who got caught out by this and wondered why laundry was so expensive.

OMG, now i understand why it is super expensive, many thanks Phil. But the question is still, if it doesn't finish after 3 minute, how can one take the reimbursement?

1. by the consumed electricity?
2. waits 3 minutes of zero electricity use
3. wait
once it has recorded that the washing has finished, it is ready to receive the card to put back remaining credit.

Each washing programm has a different price.
When you select a washing programm and start the cycle, the price will be deducted from your prepaid card.
After the deduction , you can reclaim your card.
There is no need , to pop in the card a second time(usually).

operation manual
With the advance payment system, a maximum of CHF 120 can be loaded onto the user card. When you start through If the user card is inserted, a provisional amount (CHF 3.00) will be deducted. After removing the card, the red control lamp on and the machine can be started.
As soon as the washing process is finished, the counting process can be ended by inserting the user card. By inserting the user card again, the duration and costs of the washing process and the reimbursed amounts are displayed. The remaining amount used will be credited back to the user card. If you are absent, END insert card appears on the display 5 minutes after the end of the washing process.
Insert user card to return the unused balance.
