Re: Last Day Before Your Freedoms are Limited

When the government closed the restaurants the 2 previous times everybody was paid technical chomage / rav so they were kept afloat. This time their business will be severely reduced due to the covid certificate and there will be no government hand out this time. Expect a good portion of restaurants and bars to go bankrupt.

And people already hesitant to get the jab most certanly will not get it so they can have a beer in a restaurant.

Not mine. All good here. Happy to be regularly "chipped".

Enjoy your self-imposed exile.

Well nobody cries about getting the flu shot every year.
In my opinion, where they have gone wrong is initially declaring it as a one time vaccine (like MMR).
I guess that was easier at the time than saying 'Here's the shot, we have no idea how long it will protect you for' and getting into an even bigger sh1tstorm than it already is.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens. I think you're probably right though unfortunately.
Certainly in Basel, Novartis and Roche employees were spending thousands every week in the restaurants at aperos or team events or just visitors. All that has stopped.

From Monday 13th.

I would guess what you're seeing is a version of what some of us in the voluntary sector have been doing - approaching as many of our needy citizens who we know depend upon libraries, and the staff in libraries, to let them know what to do now lots of our most needy cannot use their services anymore, to let them know where those citizens are still welcome (regardless of whether they've received the injection, or not), to give maps, contact info and so on.

An acquaintance of mine plans to lock the door to his small bar from Monday onwards, as he's running the bar alone, and cannot do all existing jobs, and check documentation in parallel. He'll need to stop doing 1 job, to be able to do the other. Since he's alone, and cannot financially stomach any fine, he can't risk someone entering the bar without him knowing. He has been telling his regulars of his plan over the weekend.

The “Government* as described in your post is financed by all off us. Get yourself a job, stop scrounging of others, and work your way to civilisation

Why has it stopped already since the new regime doesn't start until tomorrow? The social planned for this week is still going ahead with my colleagues.
