| | Where to live around Vevey/Montreux area?
Hello,
Me and my girlfriend are currently finishing our studies in Lausanne and wanted towards the eastern part of the lake. We are both 25, don't go out too much (a local small bar is enough, enjoy nature and don't like big city life.
My girlfriend really enjoys snow in winter, so a city with many snowy days in winter would be a plus.
We have been looking into Châtel St-Denis, Chardonne, Blonay-St Legier, Attalens and Jongny.
Which of these would be the best fitting in the criteria?

one of the most expensive areas to live in - so perhaps where you find something affordable for students! Wow.

No it's not, Chatel St D is perfectly affordable with good transport connections and there are plenty of apartments available, ditto Attalens
St-Legier is full of Nescafs
Blonnay, Chardonne/Jogny are more expensive but far cheaper than Lutry, Pully, Cully St. Saphorin etc

Wow. | | | | | They are just finishing their studies, maybe they have good jobs lined up! Maybe they are wealthy already. Students/graduates aren't all poor.

People earn far more here than in your neck of the woods.
It may be cheaper to live where you live, but salaries are also lower
Zurich is far more expensive and salaries too in consequence.

students and even Phds earn more or less the same.
And so many other professions too. Ask those who work for top local companies, be they pharmas or watch making, and other large and small companies.
