Ah, that's "Couverture" chocolate. Unfortunately I haven't seen any at Migros or Coop.

Found some here:
http://www.schokoladen-brunnen.ch/52...ession*id*val*
Minimum ordering quantity 2kg

Probably better to enquire at Sprüngli Paradeplatz or give the Lindt factory a call.
I thought I saw it at the big coop in W a n k d o r f. At anyrate, I'll check around when we get back from the US.

What's the deal with not being able to type in W a n k?

Hmmmm. . . . I'm dying to know what Swiss town has a name that gets sensored.

Could it be w*nkdorf? Tw*tdorf? dorf? c*ntdorf? Okay, I'm done.

I miss the ocean very very much today.

W-a-nkdorf does exist - and apparently they have a night-life too:

Almost every one of your last dozen posts contains expletives. We should all calm down as we're in Switzerland, the suns out and we're...in the office....

I can't believe they actually used that headline. Might as well post it here:

Re: What do you really miss the most?

Many moons ago, I cooked in a great "joynt" in California. My fish tacos were one of the specials and would love to find a reason to dust off the." recipe...I call my fiancee the "taco queen." Not real Mexican, but we do import Tapatio!

Maybe we should organize a 'Do.' I have a pretty big flat...not sure if I am volunteering yet, but I might be convinced...

Let me know if you guys want a mexican party, we could do some fish tacos (from baja), maybe some tostadas (central mexico) or even some burritos (tex mex)

I miss Swiss recycling. I cringe every time I see someone throw Aluminium trays away.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

Big enormous shopping malls, where you can wander around for hours Sears and JC Penneys and Victoria's secret and .... pretzels !!
Big soft chewy pretzels !!

And those big fluffy cakes and sliced bread so white and soft the middle falls through when you hold the corners.... and root beer and Red Lobster restaurants !!

Big wide roads where the street name doesn't change at every twist, homemade cherry pie at the county fair, lemonade stands, girl scout cookies, and bikes with pink baskets and purple streamers with back breaks and banana seats and a great game of baseball in the Fall in New England when the leaves are turning color

Re: What do you really miss the most?

I miss my dealer. He's a good lad. Delivery service at weekend, always punctual and never tried to rip me off. And he rolled a great joint. His tea making left a lot to be desired though. He'd never think to preheat the pot or the mugs. Very poor show.

I really miss indian food though there are various indian restaurants , but they are heavy on the pocket , i also wish to have the indian snacks (wada pav, alu chaat, the mouthwatering paani puri ) which were available just around the corner , no matter where you live.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

Shopping hours. In my old country, shopping centres are usually open til 9 and supermarkets til 11pm, even on Sundays. If you work even standard hours, it's quite difficult to be done with your shopping before 6.30, I find.

Internet shopping - I buy most of my stuff online, clothes, books, cosmetics etc, and there were no customs duties for things from other EU countries and 150 EUR tax free limit from outside of EU.

And internet in general - I'm so used to doing everything online. All possible forms, notificatons, permits, registrations, applications etc, just with the ID-card. We even vote online. No need to actually show up in some office with opening hours from 9 to 4, lunch between 12 and 2..

Oh well. I get used to it. Otherwise it's nice here.

Real back bacon, extra strong cheddar, cadburys flake and self raising flour - who is supposed to be able to make a decent birthday cake for their son when the damn thing only rises about half an inch with the useless "backpulver" over here? We could even get these things when I lived in China, so what's the problem with Switzerland and Germany??

But most people shop on line for bargains. I don't think that Migros or Coop online will give much more than the regular store if anything. What about ALDI on line
