Gave you a thanks but you deserve bright red -5 rep for reminding me. Yet another spring gone by without any.
Yorkshire, Sussex, Bucks, Northamptonshire...
and Switzerland? Not a glimpse of that wonderful blue mist in a clearing in the woods.

The woods near my Nana in Derbyshire have a plentiful carpet of them too.

Sigh...

I was in Loblaws this afternoon... 5 different kinds of Cheesies, including the President's Choice budget ones. I am enjoying a large bag of the proper ones in your honor right now.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

I miss mostly the times when being 16-19 and 20-23 years old. And sometimes I miss the concept of having places to go on wider area than 250 meters in radius.

Alas, this weekend we'll be a 2 minute walk from the sea.

But we'll probably spend more time doing yard work than at the sea.

Driving to my local Tesco Extra at 9pm, doing the shopping for the whole week in one place, for less than GBP 80, then being home and unpacked within the hour.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

On cool, rainy evenings like these, our thoughts drift to the rising of the sternpillars, golden and twinkling in the pale light of the suns. We'd cover our heads with smooth, dried duck pelts and run out into the garden, dancing for joy amongst the jollbeans and mool as the glittering flakes splashed around us.

Afterwards, back to the hole for a cup of chorris and a snap of elq, huddled warmly in the trippes before retiring for the yearlong night. Long would we lie there, gazing through the ceiling at the wheeling gneus before drifting, heavily, into gaseous oblivion.

We'd wake with the turning of the new season, refreshed, but shorter, and greet the suns with our neareyes turned loud. It would be many meres before the sternpillars would rise again, but we didn't care - for we had myre and, most importantly of all, we had each other.

Here is nice, but sometimes... it was a long time ago. Best to forget. Here there is air and earth and snow. It's better here, really. Much better.

The woods near our place in Belgium had fabulous carpets of bluebells too which always reminded me of my childhood walks through the bluebell woods in Yorkshire.

Bluebells are sadly lacking in Switzerland.

I HATE that! I hate shopping and it is such a relief to know they are closed at least for a few precious hours...

From England - not that much really, just convenience of actually being able to go to the supermarket after work i guess.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

Toronto. Plain and simple.

Friends and family.

Having the benefits of living in a large city... and then taking the ferry over to the island to lounge on a sandy beach away from it all.

The food. Any type of food you want. Pretty much anytime of the day. And being able to go grocery shopping at 2am and have the whole place to yourself.

The coffee... oh the coffee.

Sausage McMuffins.

In no particular order.

Shop opening hours are canton dependant. Here they are open until 19.00 on weekdays (20.00 on Thursdays) and 18.00 at weekends. Over the border in Bern they are open until 20.00 on weekdays and 17.00 at weekends.

Re: What do you really miss the most?

Being able to recreate without the endless rules, regulations, certificates, licenses and general restrictions which suck the fun and spontaneity out of a passion or hobby.

ex: fishing, boating, flying, woodworking, DIY.
(Not to mention the rules change 10km north of here and then again 5km east.)

Also, access to wilderness areas where one can travel for days without seeing another soul.
