Here is Thai Pavilion, This picture I was taken while visited Lausanne.
Located in Denantou Park, Ouchy, Lausanne.

Hope you all like this!!
there was a lot of resistance to get it cleared to install but due to political relations the swiss caved in fear of insulting the thai people. it's a gift from the thai king, who went to school here.

it's actually quite beautiful but also quite loathed. it's really out of place. perhaps switzerland should insist on building a ski chalet in the middle of a park in Bangkok.

Here's one of mine

This is part of the view of the run-in to Axalp shoting range. This was 2006.

Here are a couple of links to two Panos I took while taking aircraft pics by Runway 16 at Zurich airport. Both shots of the mountains. Too big to upload the pics themselves.

1 SMaller pano, 5073 x 808, 2.60 MB

2. Bigger one, taken at a later date. 11876 x 917 5.71 MB

Hope you like em :-)

Re: Post Your Photos From Switzerland!

Hi Al

Those were taken in early evening, late afternoon, as I often am up by runway 16 area, with all the other spotters :-) and the light is behind you later in the day, so these were taken in a quiet period between aircraft arrivals.

Both were taken with a Canon 7D and the 100-400mm L series lens. The small pano is hand held, only about 6 shots. Settings 100 ISO, 800 SS and aperture around F/11. The larger one was done from the tripod but same gear and usually the same settings, as I don't like to change them while waiting for aircraft :-)

Once on the PC at home, they are put together using Pano Maker 5 from Arcsoft, which handles the very large sizes of files without a problem.

Glad you like them

Chris

OK, got that. How big is too big, as I'm used to 1024 pixels on the long side as a standard forum picture post size.

All the pictures in posts 662, 666, 668 and 673 are cut off the right hand side of the screen.

Re: Post Your Photos From Switzerland!

Ah, I see the problem you are talking about. Unfortunately, that's a problem of monitor size and the resolution that you have set on your personal monitor at home. I've just checked from here in the office, using 19 inch monitors, and I don't get any picture clipping, I see the full picture in all those posts you mentioned. Same at home, but that's on a 22 inch widescreen monitor in 1900 x 1400 resolution.
I take it if you want to see whats on the right of the picture, you have to scroll right, which is annoying, I agree. Not sure which IE you are using, but if it is at least IE 7, then you can look at the bottom right hand corner and you'll see the magnifying glass with a + in it, and next to it 100%. Clicking on the small arrow head next to this, you can drop down a list for zooming, which includes 75%, which should get you the full pictures without needing to do any scroll. It will default back to 100% once you close the IE so next time you open for something else, you are back to normal.

Regards Chris

Re: Post Your Photos From Switzerland!

There isn't an option to scroll across the screen. I can, of course, reduce down to 75% but then text is reduced as well.
