Dead XMas tree Pickup ? [Basel area]

Hey,

What's the score with putting Christmas Trees out in the rubbish?

Supposedly last year there was a pickup especially for them, but it doesn't seem to be on any local calendars. Is there a specific date for this (in BL)?

thanks,
(Mr)Wibble

I don't know about pick-ups, but check with any local stables, some horses love to chew on fir tree branches, it's their New Year treat

Re: Dead XMas tree Pickup ?

I'm in Basel-Stadt and found this link:

http://www.stadtreinigung-bs.ch/page.php?lang=0&sel=206

My German isn't that great, but I think it means they collect on the regular rubbish day (? please correct me if I'm wrong)

We're going to look tomorrow pm to see if anyone has put their trees out or not...

Re: Dead XMas tree Pickup ?

Yes, you can drop off your tree with a maximum of 2 meters in length, for free
in the normal garbage collection. This only in Basel-Stadt.

Rangatiranui has the right answer. Check with your community to determine
when the Green-Pickup will be. In my community, the Green-Pickup should be
reduced to a maximum of 1 meter. This may be different for the Christmas
trees.
