Garden Fence Needed in Zug

I will be needing a fence put up in the garden when I move to Baar in 3 weeks.
Does anyone know either a company or someone who can get the materials and put it up for me?

Thanks

Re: Garden Fence Needed in Zug

Have you tried looking up two or three local gartenbau in the yellow pages and getting quotes? I got some fencing put up by my local paysagiste. They advised on options for materials and costs. But if you go this route do get quotes. I did and was surprised by the range.

Re: Garden Fence Needed in Zug

There's a fence builder located in Ottenbach which is about 15 minutes from Baar. They've done some work around our apartments in the past and they seem to do satisfactory work, don't know what their prices are like as I didn't see the bill. The name is Eichhorn AG.

Zug city has a Green boarders law that fobids fences, but you can have a wire fence with wooden posts hidden behind a hedge. Mine is dog proof and I can give you the contact details tonight - since it is on the fence. Or you can pop by and take a look if you live near me

There is a property next to mine that has a fence up. Approx 3ft high. I have also seen others. The landlord seemed ok with the idea

Sorry, I saw Zug in your profile. Just noticed that you live in the city of Baar. My fault.

Zug has hedges everywhere - nice little earner for the gardners

Most gardeners can install a fence. The kind of fence you need depends on whether you are trying to keep pets in an enclosed garden, children, or just want privacy. For a simple fence you may not require concrete to set the posts in place. If you rent, you need permisssion from the owner and I would negotiate leaving the fence if and when you move, but if you can't, don't use concrete.

We used Zaunteam for our fence and the product is excellent but the delivery time is weeks. Fortunately in our Gemeinde we did not need a permit but in some areas you do. There are also rules with regard to height, distance from lot line, etc.

You can also go to a place like COOP Bau and Hobby and get everything you need and often they know a local person who might do this kind of work. If there is a Landi in your area, that is a good place to inquire about someone for this kind of work. They also sell fence materials, as does Jumbo.

Papa Goose, and he his also a top bloke, makes me laugh everytime we are together in person, or on Skype.

My neighbour put up a small 3ft fence to stop her dog from going into the garden, they bought the material in the Jumbo, if you don`t have a jumbo near you, try a garden store i.e Landi

For chickens head to Landi, they sell removeable mesh fences for all sorts of livestock - cost is literally chicken feed. I have chickens and don't fence them in, they don't go far from home anyway. If you want tips PM me. There is also a great English language forum for chooks Practical Poultry Forum, I don't have the link here but Google will find it

Anyone on here used a sprayer to paint their garden fence? I need to do ours and want to get it done with as little fuss or boredom as possible. I see adverts and they make it look so easy... but is it?

Well when you think about it you might be wasting a lot of paint, unless it is a closed fence.

You also need a minimum temperature to spray, best to ask when you buy the paint.

Using a roller isn't exactly difficult you know, and you will get more paint onto the fence.

I considered spraying but it is just too messy. We have a wood fence on one side of our house which was treated when we first bought it but needed to be redone. I looked into the various options and ended up buying wood stain in Germany which was very easy to work with. We used a brush, well actually three brushes, different shapes and sizes to reach all areas. I didn't need to sand the wood, just give it a good scrub.

The temperature had to be over 10 degrees.
Here is a link in English to the manufacturer's website.
