What made your day today?

I wonder what made your day today? Or lately? I know these are little things, but it makes one happy .

I am so thrilled. Our toddler lost the key to a cabinet where we keep all our linen and so we went to Ikea here in Aubonne to see if they could help us (well, after we stuck all sorts of strange wires and pins into the lock trying to pray it open). Not only they ordered the key for us, the guy's English was impecable, the customer service fantastic, quick, friendly and polite. And they found a baby hat this morning that we lost running through Ikea yesterday. The people who work there know their stuff. I think I am going to write a nice letter to them to report about their good client dept.

i like this topic

i received a new batch of books from amazon today, that made my morning!
i started reading one of those books and it is really good, that made my afternoon!
and my boyfriend is cooking for me at the moment. that, along with a few drinks should make my evening!

i also made a delicious home made nutella which, well, makes everything better!

Re: What made your day today?

homemade nutella???? I'd LOVE the recipe

Well, I've been in a real low lately.. so I guess having someone fly in from German to take me out to dinner because I passed an exam and give me flowers made my day on thursday...

Today, its been hiding from the world by locking myself in my study working on a paper.

Re: What made your day today?

Aww, es, do write a letter! I wrote a letter to a bus company in Melbourne once when the bus driver had gone out of his way to help a little old lady get off the bus and other nice things all in one journey. I figure public transport staff are usually in a lose-lose situation: if they're early, the people on time are annoyed, and if they're late, everyone is annoyed. They can never exceed customer expectations regarding arrival time.

My week has been a great one in that a short story site will be paying me for a short romance and someone got in touch to arrange advertising on my blog. I figured this week must be positive, so I chased up a guy who owes me some money for some travel guides I wrote, and he was not only apologetic but also offered me more work!

...and the cat is back to normal after being a bit grumpy all week after a tooth was removed. So he's happy too.

You would make my day if you gave me the Nutella receipe.

My husband made my day by hiding all the wires with white things we bought in the Jumbo yippee no more black wires

Re: What made your day today?

well, a fantastic forum member made my day by organising the trip to the Alptransit tunnel - we had a great day!

And then he gave us a lift most of the way back home, so we got to see a lot of the swiss countryside - that made our afternoon!

And my kids had a great day with their grandma...and she braved the Swiss supermarkets (Denner AND Coop) with all three grandkids in tow - and bought heaps of treat foods - so that made everyone's day!

Re: What made your day today?

the nutella recipe is very easy:

- 150 grams of butter
- 100 grams of dark chocolate
- 400 grams of condensed sweetened milk (i used a bit less)
- 4 tablespoons of cocao (grinted--not sure if that's the correct word...i mean using this thing with the holes...do i make sense?)
- 2 tablespoons of icing sugar (grinted)
- 1 cup of powder hazelnuts (i used a bit less)

melt the butter with the chocolate. mix the milk, cocao and icing sugar with the melted chocolate until smooth (no mixer required) and then add the hazelnut. when it cools down put in the fridge till it's more "solid"

you can keep in the fridge for a few days. better take it out from the fridde for a while before consuming because it tends to get quite hard.

DISCLAIMER: even if i call it nutella, the taste is not the same...sorry...it reminds me more of the filling of ferrero roche...kidna! in any case it is delicious!

Re: What made your day today?

We turned up at the local recycling center 10 minutes before closing time and there was no queue at all. We actually made it through faster than when we are more organised and get their earlier.

Then I found a cake plate in the Brockenhaus for CHF 3! I Have been looking for one for ages and I was going to pay much more for a new one that wasn't as nice.

My husband made my day today by offering to babysit our daughter, giving me a 3 hour break from it. And as i left the house on my own, he told me I could treat myself to a new pair of sunglasses while I was out

Re: What made your day today?

I have to admit that my day isn`t "made" jet, but the one thing that really made me wake up and smile this morning was the singing birds outside my window. The sun was shining through the window, lighting -and warming up the bedroom and there was a lot of birds singing in a massive choir at the same time.
This was the best morning in a long time, especially because of the horrible and cold weather the past weeks

My local Super League football team, FC Vaduz, finally won a game...
A very important game... to a team they lost to just three days ago...
One goal... Three points... Best is, I captured the ball crossing the goal...

Re: What made your day today?

I visited the "Swiss Moto" motorcycle fair in Zurich today. I am planning to do the licence this year and still have no clue about bikes. (so the fair was worth it for me... saved me visits to all the different dealers and see some driving school presentations)

So what made my day today?

Test-sitting on an MV Augusta worth twice as much as my Audi while not even knowing how I would shift a gear.
