Re: amazon.ch?

The answer is very simple: the Swiss don't like mail order - or acually anything new...
(I am aloud to say this- I am Swiss )
Many Swiss just can't seem to acustom to these things, they think it's not save. they wanna touch, feel, smell what they're gonna buy. they rather go out in the pouring rain than having it delivered. just don't ask.

Re: amazon.ch?

I know the pain you are going through. Someone told me to go to Amazon.uk or Amazon.fr. Apperently they ship to CH! Now that the Dollar is low try Amazon.com maybe you will get a bargain..good luck

Re: amazon.ch?

Best deal is usually with amazon.de.
you look up the book on amazon.com, copy paste the IDSN number in amazon.de, order.

because it is in the EU, you don't pay taxes on books (doesn't work on tapes though), and shipping is cheaper. worth paying the prices that are a little higher.

Amazon.de stocks pretty much anything that amazon.com stocks. Not so with the others.

Re: amazon.ch?

Found amazon.de often cheapest, although they don't stock as wide a range.
marketplace within amazon is worth comparing. sometimes shipping cost exceed the actual book price, but at a few penny a throw often worthwile if u don't mind 2nd hand.

Several times I've saved a lot of money with amazon.co.uk compared to amazon.de

amazon.de

amazon.co.uk

Re: amazon.ch?

I feel for you. !!!
I am trying to buy a Kindle on line. I do NOT have a credit card and wanted to get an Amazon Store Card. It seems impossible.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get a Kindle?
I have MS and thought instead of carrying a book with me all the time, I could use a Kindle which is much lighter. I spend approximately SF100 a month on books and have seen that they are the same price (sometimes cheaper) at Kindle.
HELP ...
