| I pretty much gave up on Bollywood in the summer of 2008 when "Singh is Kiing" and "Bachna ae Haseeno" came out. But I will have to say that some of my favorite Bollywood movies are:
My Name is Khan
New York
Dostana
and my all time favorite Shah Rukh Kahn film: Asoka.
I'm also not afraid to admit that I liked Dhoom and Dhoom 2. What can I say? Hrithik Roshan is good eye candy.
Bollywood can make some great movies, but I get really turned off by them always having to throw in some overdramatized love story. | |

There are always some directors who make really crap movies...overdramatized...etc...as you put it.
But then, there are some other who make brilliant movies...Anurag Kashyap, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Sudhir Mishra, Mani Ratnam, Farhan Akhtar, etc.
Of course, these movies don't carry the usual bollywood formula of glamorous song and dance, and hence mostly they fail on the box-office.
These are the ones, which people normally don't hear about since they are not mainstream, that are really worth the watch.
