Re: Eurovision - anybody watching?

It is such a cool thing that in 2014 in Copenhagen it was aubsidied by almost 83m DKK (about 11m CHF). I hope the poor tax payers watched it.

Re: Eurovision - anybody watching?

I used to watch but I gave up a few years ago. It quit being amusing and just became a few hours of my life I won't get back

Every year I swear I'm not gonna watch this show ever again, that was the last year.... blah blah blah.
Hope I'll finally change the pattern this year....

Oh, so you're basically saying that we should stop resisting and start embracing our true nature of superficial beings..aren't we supposed to listen to Tchaikovsky or, I don't know..play chess against the computer all this time ?

Re: Eurovision - anybody watching?

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, they've found a way to hit a new low!

Half a dozen Celine Dion clones, crap act from Switzerland (as usual), and the rest amorphous androgenous crap acts and presentators.

Best so far is San Marino.

Considering you don't like it, you have a lot of information.
I don't even know where it takes place or who will be there (if I did I probably wouldn't know who they are).
But I do know that we have a reputation to defend: We gotta be last! Therefore a crap act from Switzerland is required. And to be crap in comparison with the others is quite an achievement, I've heard.

Oh, I am so hurt.I thought you like yodelling....but well, you are not a real Swiss after all.

Jokes aside, the song was composed for Switzerland. Since they decided to come up with their own song, it was given to someone else (an 18 y.o. girl inspired by America's got talent yodelling performance) who participated into the national contest, and out of 10 or something songs they won. Simple.

Yodelling, my dear, is more popular the you think. lol

No, you should check out what your countrymen are to, it was America's got talent that corrupted Ilinca...

I was actually joking with my husband / it would be like someone from Germany happily jumping up and down on a Hora...lol
But let's admit it> rap, pop and whatever else they sing there wasn't invented in say Croatia or Georgia. It's the same thing.

For God's sake, give us a break, would ya'? . She's a 18 y.o. who watched someone yodelling in this contest - America's got talent and she decided to try doing that herself - in fact she participated in the same type of contest, only the Romanian version, with yodelling and country music. That's when she draw attention to her vocal abilities.
Now get used with the idea..yep, some of us like yodelling.
