Eurovision Song Contest is the correct name, Eurovision is the international system used to televise the Song Contest!
Anyway, it's the one contest where the winner is the loser, as the winning country has to host (and pay for) the next one!

Good on him, he's clearly got some taste, or sense, or both. | | | | | Well aren't you a delight.
Do you take pleasure in using crude language to "crap" on someone's joy?
Can people no longer disagree or express an opinion without resorting to rudeness?
Well I definitely know which holiday chalet I will definitely not recommend to any potential visitors.

Tom | | | | | Yes that's true - however it does (normally) bring in a large number of tourists and trade to the country. However there are some countries who don't participate due to the potential cost of winning.

Considering that it has nothing to do with talent and the winner is based on politically correct favorites, who do we think has a fair chance of winning?
On the other hand, the Ukraine's video looks cool. Anyone know what the hell they are singing? https://youtu.be/U7-dxzp6Jvs https://youtu.be/U7-dxzp6Jvs

She has such a great singing voice.
I do agree that there is still some politics involved however this has reduced dramatically since they introduced the "Expert" Voting panel.
And anyway - the political voting is a key element in any ESC Drinking game. Everytime a country gives 12 points to it's neighbours you need to take a shot.

Anybody watch the alternative version last Saturday night? The "free european song contest" . On channel Pro7
We watched a bit to Amy MacDonald .. But man it was generally rubbish, we gave up half way through because of the 15 minute advert slots too.
Since it was in German I didn't really get the idea other than it being same format as Eurovision .. IE : Is it a rival show? A spin off? A piss take?

As the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 could not take place due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Europe, German TV station ProSieben and German entertainer Stefan Raab decided to organise Free European Song Contest as an alternative.[1] After the success of the first edition, ProSieben has decided to plan the event also for 2021.

As usual, it sucks, and the Swiss guy was really bad! Much preferred Serbia, Finland, and Portugal.
