Surely the Eurovision Song Contest has broken the world record with the number of over the top ( OTT )
eccentric performances last night ?
Don't know, we missed the final!

My wife preferred to watch 40 year old Italian erotic comedies.

I see Russia tried to emulate the singing Babushka's last night with a dress big enough to hide the
entire Bolshoi ballet.

See the Beeb's commentary is still in good hands.

Some of Graham Norton's best lines
"It's less Destiny's Child ... more Destiny's Inappropriate Auntie."

"Finland are still very cross about the conditioner in the hotel."

"If you ever wondered what had happened to Orville, the lead singer is wearing him."

"I'm not sure if she hit that note but I've definitely got a nosebleed."

"I wear this every time I go to the smelting plant."

"This is Marmite if everyone hated Marmite."

"Maybe it will grow on me, like mould on a bathroom ceiling."

"She's dressed like a zebra for some reason. Do you think it comes with a head?"

Funny, nobody seems to have noticed that the UK got nul points. Again.

And Switzerland outscored them all, on the public vote.

I was surprised that the UK got zero points, as with the new scoring system (from 2016 I think?) it's extremely hard to get absolutely no votes - well done UK!

I thought Switzerland topped the jury votes, and Italy skipped over them with the public votes.

It’s not gone unnoticed and to be fair the song was terrible. There was a time
when there was a naive entertaining aspect to Eurovision. Now it’s just garbage and I can’t see the ironic ‘it’s so bad it’s good’ aspect.

Again.

Last time CH won was when they hired that Canadienne for the dog and pony show, what's her name?

Re: Eurovision - anybody watching?

Italy and Ukraine were the two deserving first place and that was confirmed by public vote. The jury vote added some intrigue but honestly this was another fail of this system, which was introduced to bring some professionalism, but in fact remains either political game, where friends vote for friends and ignore enemies, or leads to quite strange decisions (sorry but 1st place for Switzerland? ).

As I missed it yesterday, and they weren't in the elimination rounds, I didn't see them.

Of the ones I saw, I liked Serbia (dancing), Finland (music), and Portugal (a bit of both). Saw the Swiss guy somewhere and no, just NO!

No, wasn’t picking anything up as both hands clearly visible. Also was strangly nudged by his mate as he dipped his head.

I thought it was a good song. Technically tricky to sing and had lots of energy obviously 😉🤟

UK fought hard for 0 points as usual.
