Re: Sweaty feet

Sorry, I meant to say Zurich.

But upon closer reflection I believe that I have been living here for so long that I forget that Zurich has never really left the 80's, and the ugg boots thing is quite forward thinking by Zurich standards.

Re: Sweaty feet

I don't remember seeing that way of dressing in any fashion magazine, so I think it's definitely not fashion trend has ever been enouraged, at least not mainstream...girls do that to get attention I assume...at least they have got your attention, definitely more attention seeking purpose than fashion or style pursuing purpose...at least bad style combination in my opinion.

I am still laughing at the fact that Milan is 4 years behind an Australian trend.
well, in fashion field, the trend is always in circle returning. It's in, and then out, and then back in... come and go, and come and go, and come and go, and something stays,we call it Classic

yesterday, in the blazing heat and humidity, i noticed quite a few women prancing along the bahnhofstrasse wearing miniskirts and sheepskin, furry winter boots. who are they kidding? is it just me, or does it look plain ridiculous to be wearing such footwear in the midst of summer?
Crikey, I thought they only were doing this in the UK - seems it's gone global...

Re: Sweaty feet

For the longest time I didn't click on this thread thinking it was about ways to cure sweaty feet.

Exactly - you're NOT going out dressed like that!

Nowadays, dads say, "You're not going out undressed like that." Keep up.

Uggs and minis are soooo five minutes ago. This was a fad in California about five years ago. It was a way of showing the change of the seasons in an area where the actual seasons do not change. Therefore, when fall came along, one exchanged her Rainbows for her Uggs and off she went until spring.

However, years have passed since then and no self-respecting fashionista would be caught dead in that dated look. No, no, no. One now wears only Mukluks or Freys with her minis in the cooler months. And those Freys had better be vintage and those Mukluks had better be from Saskatchewan.
You made me Google-image Mukluks and Freys, but didn't find a picture of Freys. Pray tell what those are.
*Edit: Got it. Spelling is Frye boots. Ach, so.

The locals don't sweat. At work, as soon as the temperature goes above 10 degrees, I end up dripping like a buggered fridge, while over 30 degrees, the worst I've seen from my workmates was that one of them had slightly sweaty armpits. Once.
I think this everyday I ride the S-18 to work in the heat of summer. It is an older tram so it heats up like a bloody oven. Totally miserable for me! It is horrendous. I will be sitting there sweating up a storm while I see person after person wearing long sleeves or even worse, a light jacket!!! This when it is 29 C outside!

That being said it works both ways. What goes up must come down. When there is some rain (even a slight drizzle) you should see the look of overwhelming concern and fear on their faces! The umbrellas are opening BEFORE they step off the tram. (regardless of how crowded it is or that they cannot see around the doors while their umbrellas whip open) You'd think they were storming the beach during the battle of Normandy! Are those bullets or raindrops?

Who cares if your umbrella takes out someone's eye right? I mean, god forbid you get a droplet of rain on your 800 CHF purse!!

hey, sounds like The Spouse is a fashionista, I shall keep my eyes on all your posts, so that I know what/what not to be wearing this summer/winter/spring... hmmm, I wonder if this might be a good idea for a new thread....

Re: Sweaty feet

Feet in suede Ugg boots are probably not as sweaty as feet in plastic fashion shoes, no? Leather is breathable after all.

My beef with sweaty feet is why the hell do people have to put them on the opposite seat on a train? It is laudable that they have taken off their mucky shoes first but the sight of toe nails, corns and bunions on a seat I had been considering sitting on is, quite frankly, be-leughgh!

That's because the Swiss are actually the descendants of a race of aliens who have neither sweat glands nor fat glands.

I would choose to be part of that alien descent with no fat glands.

Hmmm...aka mammoth boots. They aren't very cute.

I just got another pair of these, hope they last me another 12 years like the last ones. They are good in the cool summer like we are having right now, but wouldn't wear them in really hot weather anymore

Re: Sweaty feet

I love my UGGs and can from a region in the U.S. where it's weather appropriate most of the year, but this thread has me thinking I'd be a fool to wear them in public in Switzerland .
