Things you tried but will never try again

So, I've been getting a tad OCD these past few weeks... I blame Swine flu. I have never been meticulous, not in the extreme anyway. I've never brushed my teeth in the toilets after lunch (thats another thread altogether) but I have started to get a bit obsessed on leaving a tram or holding hand rails of any kind to get out a wet wipe and remove the germs. Then I read this the other day....Attention Swimmers: Dirty Swiss swimming pools

and even with all those reassurances, I could not get it out of my head. This however, conflicted with the urgent need for exercise. So on the recommendation of a colleague last night I set of for Uto quai badi for a swim in the lake. OMG it was the thing of nightmares! Ever seen how much a swan dumps in there? There were fishes basking in the sunning shallows... and as soon as I took a gulp of that water, a panic attack took over and I could hardly catch by breathe... Well either that or the fact I am totally out of condition and swam way too far out to get back with grace!

Anyway... my question is... what have you tried, for what ever reason, but you definitely know you will NEVER do it again??

Gal xx

How funny. I love salmon roe sushi...like a mouth orgasm...but the ultimate is Uni....sea urchin sushi. Ambrosia, the carnal taste of ocean...do you not know that what you think you hate is very close to being something you will love?

My 2 Bungy Jumps were only 40 and 70 meters, so 216.... WOW

- Done a Parachute jump from 1km as well, and the hardest jump was actually the sallest of 40 meter - probably because I did it naked, and it was quite windy that day.

Re: Things you tried but will never try again

Im afraid the bungy jumping would be in the thread never tried and never will thread!!
But well done those of you who jumped twice!

I find sushi delicious but sea urchins always look to 'snotty' for my liking. Bit like egg nog isn't it?

Frankly I was in my late 20's and me and my Canadian friends were on our visit to Cape Town to watch rugby game. Then we decided to travel on Garden Route and we stopped at the Bloukrans Storms River Bridge. I saw many tourists jumping and me having had two beers before some foolish youthful frenzy overpowerd me and I decided to do it (especially because both of my Canadian friends were female ). Once I volunteered, there was no surrender, no retreat otherwise I would have made arse of myself
So I went there and I did it... The worst feeling is not when your are falling down but actually seconds before the launch when you ominously wait to meet your destiny and they start counting... still shivering on thought of it But it all went well, in total a minute of fun including dingling on the rope above the creek and you wait until they hoist you back up. Entire enterprise cost R500 (CHF70) at that time 2003, which was considered a lot for SA standards. I would never do it twice though, wouldn't wanna take a chance again

Ok here is my story, i used to go out with the guy who owned the B J company, and he convinced me it was safe and stayed with me all the time until i had to jump off, i agree the worst part is just before you have to jump loads of mine friends came to watch so i couldn`t chicken out after i had told them all i as going to do it (i got to jump for free because he was my BF) but would never jump again even if they paid me

Re: Things you tried but will never try again

I got a big mouth too.

First jump was in Verbier. I paid for it, and did it.

Second time, there was an Event in the town, where I lived, and I went there with a friend.
I was a poor Student back then, and found it a bit expensive, and just for fun, I asked if I could jump for free, if I did it naked, He said "Deal", and being a man of my word, I did it.
They got some Advertising, and I got a free jump

Re: Things you tried but will never try again

I could show you the newspaper Article that the local newspaper wrote afterwards.

Staying on Topic, I would not do it again. It could spread too fast over the Internet, so it could cost me a job, when a potential employer types my name into google. Back then, I used Gopher to browse the Internet, and I knew I would still go to the University for 2 more years, so did not care about getting known for my stunt in the whole town.
