Is it really dull in Zug?

Nah, there's plenty to do and Zürich/Luzern are only a train ride away!

Depends what interests you. If you want to go clubbing three times a week, go live in Zurich. If outdoor activities - cycling, mountain hiking, canoeing, long walks by the lake, etc - are your thing, Zug is fine.

Zug like anyplace is what you make it. I have been over here for a few months now and manage to find stuff to do!

Get out to the Badi's at lunchtime or after work. That's where everyone else is.

Yeah, Zug is bloody boring. We locals make jokes about Zug as well.

Ï've been there a few times due to an ex who lives therw and I personally found it staggeringly dull. THe lake and small section of the altstadt is lovely, but once you've seen that (about 20 minutes worth of walking) you are left with very little to keep you occupied. The shopping is also pretty poor and there just didn't seem a great amount of stuff to do which didn't revolve around the lake.

Wasn't my cup of tea really.

I guess it really depends on what you like. Do you like the quetness of a small town or do you want the hustle and bustle of a busy city?

As some other posters here have mentioned, if you like outdoor activities it is a good place to be. Besides, as a forgeiner, I find the locals to be nice and welcoming - or that may just be curiosity.

In the end - I would say if you don't like the quiet small town atmosphere and you're not into outdoor activities - it's not a place you may want to live.
