I'm not aisan but lived there for a few years.....I miss living on top of everyone. I know that's strange - I do like the extra space we have here -but it meant there was always someone around no matter where you went. Always someone to talk to, to have coffee with, to help you out, and lots of other kids for mine to play with.
Again strange, but I miss the hustle and bustle and noise that was constant. (I do love the peace and quiet here too.)
And I agree about the kindness of strangers.
Also loved and hated the service in shops, restaurants, etc - so attentive and prompt, but totally overbearing at times.
I don't miss my kids constantly having their hair ruffled by strangers and being grabbed for photos, because they have blond hair (thought to be lucky by the chinese).
Really wish I could have a bit of both - HK and CH. And throw in a bit of Australia too! | The following 2 users would like to thank OZHK for this useful post:

But then, I know I'll miss the very noisy, dusty and never-ending-under-construction streets, the very hot and sticky weather... If we could combine CH and VN.
And in VN, people never think I'm Chinese |

Danke! ( the pic was a little too big for my screen )
I loved the Taiping Zoo ( we partied there and at the water fall when Rotaract Club Taiping was chartered ). |

I miss my neighbors/village. I knew almost everyone. Here, I barely know my next door neighbor (we liived in apartment).
Another thing beside the food, same as miso, I miss the massage and the manicure and pedicure (Filipino style).

I miss:
1. shops opening at 9am - 10pm, Mondays till Sundays
2. Being able to get food at any time of the day without having to cook it yourself
3. Dim sum on Sunday mornings with my family
4. Air conditioning
5. Most importantly, opening my mouth and speaking in dialects - and GETTING UNDERSTOOD! | This user would like to thank summerrain for this useful post:

The most amazing are those in which a (formerly) motorised vehicle is carried atop a cart or tricycle.
