Hi everyone!

I have recently joined the Forum and have found much interest/help/humour in browsing the numerous areas of the EF. So firstly, many thanks to all of you for that.

I am from London/Oxford and have come to visit my (Swiss) boyfriend and see if there's any possibility of settling here in terms of jobs, friends etc. We are about to move into a new flat which is the first start - hurrah! And i am doing some online German courses, as i speak pretty good French but rudimentary German, until i can afford a Migros class (or the equivalent).

I was wondering if there are any EF members near to my current area? We are near Arbon/St Gallen/Bodensee etc. It seems most are living in Zurich/Bern/Basel/Geneva etc. and i was hoping there are others out there like me! I already have some friends here (through my boyfriend), but it can feel quite isolated out here sometimes when you aren't in a bustling city.

It would be great to connect with some like souls and have a good old english banter.. as well as tips and possible networks for employment, as that is obviously not as easy to find out here either!

Many thanks in advance. I am sure you all have some bright ideas or sage words to keep my spirits up and feet moving forward.

I think Sutter lives out your neck of the woods, doesn't she? We have a couple of St. Gallers around too (don't remember their handles.)

Here, try this: go to the memberlist search and put "Arbon" or "Thurgau" or wherever in the location field, see what pops up.

Heh! You group those together like they are close to each other. You are closer to Zurich than any of those other cities are to each other or to Zurich. It's probably less than an hour away for you right? From my observation, the bulk of the expat community is in Zurich so you will probably find plenty people with similar interests in that area.

Thanks for both your help. I know i am about 1 hour and a half from Zurich and that those cities arent close to eachother. My concern is that most people are in the cities whereas i am not.

Would be great to meet up or arrange a more local group if that were possible.
