Zürich Office Christmas Party IDEAS PLEASE

Hi EFers,

Our office (21 people) is trying to organize a Christmas party in Zürich. Normally we would just go to a restaurant, but now they have decided to do an activity then go for dinner.
Some of the ideas already mentioned: CURLING, COOKING CLASSES, or PAINTBALL.

They have asked us all for ideas and I have none.

Please share with me your christmas office party ideas/experiences in Zürich.
Please share the positive and the negative experiences.

Many thanks for your help.

Re: Zürich Office Christmas Party IDEAS PLEASE

With a previous job I did both Curling and a Cooking lesson. Both were a lot of fun and a great success. We did the Curling at the Dolder Ice RInk near Zurich Zoo then went for fondue in the resaurant. The cooking was great as we got to talk to each other a lot as the meal was prepared then ate what we made, it was more intersting than just going for diner.

Yes the class was somewhere near to Letzigrund. Wine was flowing in abundance, it started with a welcome Proseco then onot a choice of white or red.

You are welcome.

Only 21 persons? I say just go bowling. Plenty of bowling allys around. Good fun, easy, food and drink right there.
Our office has arranged a caving expedition followed by dinner.

Thanks for the tip, but it is not quite the thing I was looking for for our office as we should be doing the activity not the DJ.

How about a fondue, then going for food afterwards?

In Muotothal, about 1 hour from Zurich, there is one of the longest caves in the world, over 200km discovered, the end not yet found. Various adventure companies can book you in for a small exploration. 220 CHF per person, though, and doesn't include a meal.

Sounds excellent! It is a bit pricey though and too far for our office.

Anyone else been to an office christmas party with an activity that they can recommend?

Thanks

Go karting?

if many of your group are dodgy foreigners, consider a walking tour of Zurich, for example - very enlightening and interesting.

You can organize the Zurich tram restaurant "Trämli". It will take you around Zurich city while they serve drinks etc. It is fun.

Re: Zürich Office Christmas Party IDEAS PLEASE

I had an experience that completely caught me off guard. My husband's small office was looking for ideas and I was asked. I strongly suggested a cooking class. I've been to a few here and loved it. Fun, food, and the wine -- a great variety of people. When the idea was presented, all but one of the men (all Swiss) said no way. One comment was: "Aren't the women supposed to be making the pasta, we just watch, right?" He said that was not what Swiss men do.

They ended up bowling and everyone was happy. Unfortunately, my view of these guys is now somewhat *soured*
