Swiss Mystery #1 - Wiggling Fingers

What's this weird thing the Swiss do at gigs during the encore encouragement malarky. All arms raised forward towards stage, wiggling fingers, humming like a swarm of bees...... WTF.

Think I saw them doing it at the WM as well.

Robbie Williams thought it was hilarious.
It's nearly as cool as Russians standing up sunbathing...

Re: Swiss Mystery #1 - Wiggling Fingers

It is the biggest thank you to the artists, and an invitation to communicate with the audience. When the artists raise their arms in response, so does the crowd, and I have been to concerts where the artists really played with the audience. Going from one side of the stage to the other and throwing up their arms. Herbert Grönemeyer, a German artist, once told the audience in his Basle concert how he was very concerned the people had not liked the concert when they started humming. Fortunately, he had some Swiss in his crew who explained. But many foreign artists don't - which can be funny, too.

Seems to be really Swiss.
So: Wiggle on
Britta
