Free Hugs

Hello forum,

Yesterday in Neuchatel station there was a guy with a "Free hugs" sign. I know this was an internet phenenomenon a few years back with some fella in Aus. I'm presuming this time it was either a bet, or he was filiming it. Although maybe he was just bored at the station.

So..should i have planted one on him? would you?

he was a chubby ginger bloke, i think thats what put me off...ever so slighty sweaty looking as well.

nice idea though

Well as long as he wasn't offering you free equivalents of your user name, then I reckon you'd be pretty safe with a dry hug, no tongues.

We had a few people doing this hug thing here in ZH a couple of weeks ago on Bahnhofstrasse, my daughter wouldn't let me hug this cute (older) teenager girl, something about being a pervert....

Hi

I know about the free hugs campaign that was in Zürich last Sunday. It was arranged by the glocals member Ehsaan (www.glocals.com) There are photos on the website that you can see from that day...

Not sure about the one in Neuchatel though:confused:

There was 10-15 guys from Glocals doing it in ZH HB yesterday.

Apparently it was tremendously fun.

He was my mate who was pissed off about catching swine flu. He just wanted everyone else to catch it too.

Yeah, he's a nice guy. Free Hugs are something great, I never participated but if I would cross them once, I would be just happy to give some hugs...

:D

It's funny to see how people who knows what's it about react.
Those who don't know are just *defiant*

That give us a nice portrait of our society....

Re: Free Hugs

there were free hugs people at paleo- i saw one the other day here in lausanne and i've seen them a few times in geneva.

everytime i see a free hugs person, i give em a big hug. i can't help myself, really and so far i haven't seen anyone else giving hugs, unfortunately.

i like the idea, but then again i'm a big time huggy-feely person, so i would.

and even if you don't usually hug (for many a hug is not so accepted in their culture) it feels amazingly good!:)

Never ever give up the chance of a free hug. :D

Good for you :)

I'm just quite sensitive to whom and what hugs me.
Besides never ever would I let some stranger in the street hug me nor give them a hug. totally nuts in my eyes.

You let a 'what' hug you?

Stay away from that bear enclosure!

They're great. I also think we need more of the impromptu choreographed dancing down the street that seemed to be more prevalent in days gone by.

Aaah, but everyone is like that in the beginning, practice makes perfect as they say. The first one is always the hardest. Took me a while...

it's Twiggy of course

Although i chose the avatar purely for the 'mod' reference not to try and fool EFers into thinking i look like said avatar (as i don't!)

;)

But I am assuming that hootythetooty's posts evoke a similar look of disdain?

I was just confused as mod was already next to mods name. I am too young to know about older models. Thanks mod for telling me about Twiggy.
