| | Sending overseas post - registered/ signature
Hi all
Does anyone know if it's possible to send a small parcel to the UK (would go as letter post as under 2kg), using a 'guaranteed delivery/ signature required' service?
Or is this only for Swiss domestic post?
Thanks a lot.

In UK, the Royal mail only make you sign for Royal Mail stuffs.
If it is in other language or looks different "recorded" sign, whatever, they will give it like this. It's also possible they will give it to Bob, the neighbour, or anyone close to the final address.
Ok by close I mean like less than 100m away, they are still professional...
PS: it's true !!!

Scrap the question - just found the answer, once I stopped trying to read the info in German and came across the French brochure.
And yes, apparently you can send registered items to other countries; it costs 6 chfs on top of the normal economy/ priority prices.

PS: it's true !!! | | | | | How interesting - the Swisspost brochure says you can do this to all countries. Granted, there are some countries where you'd snort at the idea of a little bitty signature stopping someone having away your parcel, but I wouldn't have put the UK on that list.
Oh well - as long as the signature gets it within 100m, that's fine, it's going to my farmer in-laws who know everyone within a 20 mile radius anyway.

kodokan | | | | | OH!
I see your point!
Yes the Swiss Brochure... Happy to take MORE of your money.
The "problem" is the Royal Mail Delivery man... will he read what's on your "foreigner special delivery thing?". Even if it's in English I doubt he will apply it, from experience...
I mean they do deliver, but it's not as safe as you would think!
Anyway even for recorded thing send at the right address, you can sign billybob, whatever, they will accept. I use to receive my flatmate stuffs, I was always signing funny names.
