Hold an open air little concert in a city?

If I wanted to organize a little event for the weekend, eg speakers/music etc and wanted to it in a public place like a park or a small area in the city, who should I go to for permission or planning etc?

The local town hall?

I live in a small town so it's not like I'm doing it in the centre of Geneva

Yes, the town hall, and it'll cost you and you'll have to plan way in advance, plus clear it with the Police. Don't forget the insurance premium. Go for it.

Thanks U.Max - what exactly is the insurance premium? What would it cover? Would it be real expensive you think?

I can't answer that: best speaking to the Town Hall. Hope the budget's big
