Correct. Basically best of 7 games, 1st to 4 wins goes through.

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

If nobody on this thread were interested in the NHL, I wouldn't mention this. But there is interest in the NHL and my team has been mentioned on this thread. So I'd just like to mention this little fact:

The home of Presidents is now the home of the President's Cup. Meaning of course, that the road to the Stanley Cup goes through the nation's capital, and I don't mean Ottawa!

GO CAPS!!!!

Good luck to both teams, although if I had to root for one, I should pull for Bern since it's literally the equivalent of Washington. May the best team win!

I couldn't back Bern under any circumstances whatsoever. Not a huge fan of McSorely's bunch either. Was hoping for a Bern - Zug final to be honest .

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Well, after last night's results, I have the following to say...

WOOOOOOOO!!

The Avs clinched their play-off spot last night with an absolutely huge win over the Nucks in Vancouver after the Flames lost to the Sharks. Great way to rebound and respond to pressure after losing 4 straight by beating the Sharks in Denver and then the Nucks on the road. Hopefully that mini slump will be the last stretch of dodgy play and now we can look forward to a series against the Sharks or Blackhawks

At least I can take solace that the Flames got knocked out of the playoff hunt last night.

Yeah the Flames truly sucked this year. At least we all know the Canucks will go nowhere as per always and the Oilers, man do they even have a team up there.

Yeah, the Oilers were brutal this year, but a lot of that had to do with injuries. They had a crazy high "man-games lost to injury" this season - somewhere near 500 games!
At least the Oil are guaranteed a top pick in this year's draft and have a lot of great young prospects in their system. I think they will be a force to be reckoned within a few years... unlike the Flames who don't have a lot of top young talent.

Habs hanging in tough, back to back shutouts for Halak over Philly and Buffalo, the likely first round opponent if things hold firm.

Hard to go back to Price for the playoffs now...

Go Habs Go!

You aren't playing Buffalo the first round...you're playing my team---the Capitals. Other Cap fans are worried, but if we can't beat the 8th seeded team in the Eastern Conference, we don't deserve the Cup. Bon chance!

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Saw that, late season collapse. Halak needs to win the series for the them, Caps are just too deep. I think they were something like 8-2 without Alex? Crazy!

I'll let hope triumph experience, but think it will be Caps in 6.

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Am deciding who my second team is. Guess it's the Sens. Not Vancouver since supposedly we have a rivalry with them (not) and cuz Canucks supporters are so annoying.

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Well, the Avs face the Sharks and I think it could be a great series. I think it'll either be a short series win for the Sharks or long series win for the Avs. Hoping Jumbo Joe and Nabby bottle it again but Heatley worries me - he's done it in the play-offs before and could easily do it again. Our D is nowhere near physical enough, hoping that gets sorted in the summer but in the meantime...

Go Avs!

Hart Trophy winner for the Habs, now in nets for the Caps. Jose Theodore injured in practice today. You know the fans will be on him @ the Keg.

Go Habs Go!
