Saw that, late season collapse. Halak needs to win the series for the them, Caps are just too deep. I think they were something like 8-2 without Alex? Crazy!

I'll let hope triumph experience, but think it will be Caps in 6.
I'm still nervous because...I'm a Caps fan. There isn't that much space to detail the maddening ways this team has imploded before in the playoffs, but it's happened. Also, Montréal's power play strength goes against the Cap's penalty killing weakness. The Caps SHOULD win, but we can't afford to take the Habs lightly. I don't want the Habs thinking they have hope going when the series shifts to Bell Centre.

Also, if that weren't enough, I'm sure some of the Habs fans are still sore about us taking away their baseball team. (You may have noticed my avatar.)

Am deciding who my second team is. Guess it's the Sens. Not Vancouver since supposedly we have a rivalry with them (not) and cuz Canucks supporters are so annoying.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Sharks are like a big heavyweight boxer with a glass jaw. It would not surprise me in the least if the Avs took the series.

I don't think anyone would be overly surprised if the Avs won the series, given San Jose's recent history. Incidentally, San Jose has lost Game 1 at home in its past four playoff series. The better team won and I loved the ESPN comms on the highlights (had to watch them again as I kept falling asleep during the game - bloody 4.30am puck drops!!)

"The Avs stole this game. Actually, the Avs walked right in, kicked the door down and then stole the game"

Anyone wanna disagree that the Caps are the most exciting team in all of sports right now ? Man what an atmosphere last night in the Horizon centre! You can't help but like watching them play whether a fan or not, they are just one big ball of excitement. Watch the highlights and imagine being there!

Backstrom is having the season of his life, Carlson is I think a legend in the making, Ovi is Ovi and the goaltending is still a problem! Mike Green, as amazing as he is going forward, was horrendous. Watch him back off on the 3 goal, and then fall asleep on the go ahead by Steplanek.

You did not mention the shaky goaltending, which only adds to the excitement. Never thought Jose would be pulled before playing in Montreal, will be difficult to come back with him for the next two games. Have more hope than the beginning of the series, but agree the Caps are loaded.

Long game---but the Sens hold the Pens out.

Lets send Sid to play some golf, he's done his work this year.

Game 6 Habs-Caps was entertaining. Halak was incredible. Looking forward to game 7, as it seems the Habs win when I am in Kanada.

Well Big Mac, it was quite a series and lots of fun seeing the last 3 games back in Kanada . Halak was incredible, but think it has more to do with Green and Semin disapearing, as well as the 1-33 on the power play.

Next up Penguins.

Go Habs Go!

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Amaazing series win for the Habs, and well well deserved!

Halak was sick for the last couple of games, 1 goal in over 85 shots - come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caps did a Sharks, and wiped the league but folded quickly in the playoffs like a pack of cards! Green, forget him, shocking. Semin, invisible, Ovi, not good enough.

Powerplay WHAT THE FUJKHJHJHjesus! ????

What a shame about the next round matchups.

Think what cold've been.

BOSTON MONTREAL (No comment needed)

PENGUINS FLYERS (BATTLE OF PEN)

WINGS HAWKS (OLD SCHOOL!)

SHARKS NUCKS wouldn't be too bad either!

Shit ranking system!

Amazing atmosphere last night, swear they were about to win the cup with the noise level in the last 30 secs! Brilliant!

Wings with a big answer, but probably a step too many needed.

The mule was on fire last night.

I'm in Toronto at the moment and watched the Habs - Pens game. That was a loud game, great comeback by the Habs. I think the Pens'll do it but it'll be hard.

I was even able to watch the Leafs on TV earlier in the week but then I turned off the Golf Channel

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Another great game with the Pens and Habs. Habs played well but Fleury was solid. Don Cherry's suite was priceless.

Should be a great game 6 back at the Keg. Wish I was in Montreal!

Wow,

Apparently the loudest rink in the World was in Montreal - and the game was in Pittsburg!

Crazy, but seems like 1986 all over again....
