Apparently the loudest rink in the World was in Montreal - and the game was in Pittsburg!

Crazy, but seems like 1986 all over again....
I think there where 40 thousand people in the Montreal stadium Wow
And switzerland - canada 4:1

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

These playoffs continue to be sick and defy logic.

Montreal and Halak especially showed unbelievable defense against Caps and Pens, then . ................................ 0-6 & 0 -3 in games 1+2 v Flyers. Both shutouts recorded not by Boucher (#1 is injured) but by his backup Leighton!

Game 3 back to Montreal, Canadiens race away to 4 zip and win 5-1 at a canter!

These playoffs rock, I'm expecting the Sharks to hit at least 5 tonight!! They need to be much more aggresive, and maybe need to shake the lines up a little - San Jose's big trio have been way out-played by Chicagos.
Line 2 needs to wake up, especially Joe Pavelski (Only a point in last 5 games), 3 points for him tonight and a couple for the under-rated Ryan Clowe.

I just realized the Champions League final is on at more or less the same time as the Habs game. Good luck!

Does anybody know a place in Basel to watch the semi final with Sweden? I guess it's difficult since the Champions League final is this evening as well.....

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Anyone else really missing hockey?! I can't wait for the NHL/NLA seasons to start! Zug's new arena opens officially in about 3 weeks - woot! The Kolin Cup should also be pretty interesting with Kloten, MODO (Sweden) and Espoo Blues (Finland) coming to play.

And who wins between the NHL and the Kovalchuk deal? My guess is they sort something pretty quick, to the NHL's liking. If not, teams will front load all their FA's until the new CBA is agreed and Gary Buttman will not be pleased!

For NHL follower in Lausanne: there is a new Quebecois bar (Avenue de la Grare, near the Edripresse tower) called "Les gosses du Quebec" that shows many games. And you can find many US/Canadian beers/snacks !

Awesome, Labatt 50 on tap? French fries soaked in lard that are more flexible than gumby? Steamed hot dogs with cabbage? Tourtiere? Joe Louies? I guess asking for St. hubert would be a little much.

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

I shall start this post with the following...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

EV Zug has signed Glen Metropolit to a 2 year deal, though I guess if he gets an NHL job offer, he may go back after a year. Great signing for us and for the NLA in general. Metro is gonna be a hit here in Zug. He put up the best goal total of his career last year with the Canadiens and by all accounts is a great character. Can't wait to watch him!

Hmmm, looks like Bettman doesn't want expansion into Hamilton, but he sure scared the Swiss a bit.

The league is now under way and the Lions are currently bottom

I might take in a trip to Zug to see their new rink on Friday. I might wear my new T shirt

It's ace! Like a miniature version of a grown up North American arena! Missed the game against Bern but will be there on Friday night! I do love having a season ticket!

Meh....just a boring Montreal team.

If you get to go see the Leafs...now there's a great game.

Hahaha, just causing some trouble, you'll have a blast, I'm also very jealous (sort of)
