Looking forward to the early games today! Go Isles (with El Nino) and go Pens! It's been a great start to this NHL season and I am really looking forward to my Avs game against the Flyers tonight - another late night beckons...
Yep, Isles v Rangirls looks to be a good one. That's me sorted (once I get out of work)

Shame Mark Streit's out for a month, the Isles will be feeling that one.

Great little clip from the game

Definitely not the Swiss influence on the team. But 2 game suspension out of it.

Good job we didn't enforce that rule a couple of years back. Todd Elik would never play.

First management casualties of the new season as ZSC fire Colin Muller and Bob Leslie.

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

In honor of the start of my 2nd year in Oerlikon, and influenced by the fact I cannot name the Canucks 2 goaltenders , I have decided to switch leagues and start following the local guys. My two local teams are Kloten and ZSC. I'm going with the ZSC Lions. Local local team, 5 minute walk from my apartment.

It was a tough choice. Swissotter is real high on Kloten, and she says that rink in rocking. But based on coach firing and standings, does not look like they are going anywhere anytime soon, so I'm going with the local local boys.

As such, as first stated here and forever documented, I will live in Switzerland until the ZSC Lions win the league championship.

I'm going to look into group ticket sales. Pre-party at my place, any Lions fans out there?

Can't see Canada losing again, though goaltending has been horrible this go around.

I say Canada 4-3.

That would be entertaining. I'm guessing more of a gap though, either Canada blows them away, 6-2, 5-2 (relatively speaking), or they get cocky, and the focused russians beat them 4-1.

Jeez, Todd Elik. Brings back memories of the abuse he used to dish out (and receive) when he came down to play against Gottéron.

Sorry Luminous but I just read this thread for the first time in a long time and saw your prediction of opting for ZSC because Kloten were not going anywhere anytime soon! Had to post the current table to name 'n' shame you, showing Kloten literally Flying (sorry) and ZSC holding onto the last playoff position ! All in good fun, I'd have not predicted them to be where they are either, and certainly not to see Langnau where they are (Happy though)

Lost_inbroad - I'll catch an Olten game with you sometime if you like, I've been a few times this year already. PM me to discuss

Sad day for all (unless you're russian)

Oh well Happy New Year Canadians, you lost the Spengler and the World Juniors. Some desert team will probably win Stanley this year as well.

Or unless you are a Washington Capitals fan. One of our prospects helped the Russian team beat Canada.

The Ovechkin show gets some competition?

(btw I will have to stick to the specifics that Russia didn't beat Canada, Canada lost to Russia )

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

I'm going to bring this one back from the grave and boast about how my Canucks are playing. Looks like I'm going to have to order some playoff games.

Anyone have good streaming sites? I'm using the forums from myp2p.eu for getting streams, but they are sketchy at times.

Also, does anyone know of a good hockey shop here? Maybe even an online European shop that would ship. [rant] Equipment here is so expensive! It may be cheaper to buy a stick online from CanadianTire and have it shipped here. I mean COME ON![/rant]

Re: The (Ice) Hockey Thread

Hey Vancouverite.

I think you'll find this the best possible option.

ESPN360

I subscribe to the whole regular season for about 90 francs, and that brings you EVERY SINGLE GAME LIVE. You can switch between games, every game is automatically archived so you can relive if you missed one, or was on too late (Canucks games for example!!) Even choose the quality of the stream bandwidth and all that jazz! One feed per game, but it's the one that's going live out to the States and Canada.

Here is the link for the playoff package - same story, pick and choose every night, don't miss a thing.

https://www.espnplayer.com/espnplayer/console

Really recommend it, it's awesome!
