Well Canada played like garbage against Davos, well deserved win for the host team.
Excited to see how Canada fares against Rochester tonight, after their incidents with Geneva. The style will definitely be more north american tonight.

Really good game though, Canada dominated, but Rochester did put together a strong 2nd period. Very clean game though--none of the rough-housing everyone expected.
The empty netter at the end was borderline hilarious though

55 shots by Canada? Swap the goal tenders and we would have lost by 10.
True indeed. Clearly a case of standing in the right place at the right time. Solid passing game by Canada with a few slip-ups, where Geneva managed to score rather easily.

Tough game to watch, but the keeper Stephan definitely robbed Canada of at least 5 goals (not to mention the reviewed goal which he pulled out of the net--agreed though: no full proof that it was in).
If there was any fixing, it was Canada's defense and goalie(s) allowing all the offensive turnover breakout into goals--it was utterly embarrassing.
And what's with having a backup keeper who was on the opposing team you just knocked out in the quarter finals playing for you in the semifinals? Doesn't give the tournament a lot of credibility.
Geneva had a few goons though---Cody Almond is such a douche, not defending Roy's hissy fit in the Rochester-Geneva game, but Almond's cheap shots don't belong in international hockey. Stephan took a cheap swing too---no penalties in either incident.
My focus goes now to the Word Juniors and the Winter Classic. Toronto-Detroit is going to be great!

Looking forward to the 2014 Winter Classic as well. Detroit and Toronto are even in the standings and quality teams. Weather is supposed to be well below freezing and snowing. Michigan stadium has a stated capacity of 107,500. I can't find how many tickets have been sold, but it very well could be the most attended hockey game ever. Go Wings! Game starts in a few minutes. Snow and temperatures well below zero. But what an atmosphere in front of over 100k spectators. Never seen anything like that. Wish I could be there.
The winter classic was phenomenal! couldn't imagine a better hockey match at all!
As much as I wanted to be there, I was very content nursing my hangover on a warm couch with a great view of the action.
The atmosphere was unbelievable, even on the CBC stream. The sweaters, the fedoras, red/blue colours, the SNOW!, the shoveling, overtime, shootout. I'm a die-hard leafs fan, but I would have been cool seeing the Wings win.
And Don Cherry's suit----always a wow, but I do miss seeing them being here in Zurich

Olten is playing Chaux-de-Fonds for the 12th win in a row.
Yeah, it definitely looks like we're going to see Olten up in the NLA next year with this trend.
Speaking of up and comers---Switzerland played a great game against Canada in the Juniors. Despite the score the Swiss dropped some big hits and the game was tight for a while.
