I was just wondering after a post from this morning....if everyone who is a part of EF is actually in Switzerland? I know most are but are there a few just floating by because they did at one point live in Switzerland or knows someone who lives here? just a bit curious

I dont live in Switzerland yet but am moving in the Summer. I am using the forum to gain some invaluable insights into what life will offer us once we're there and what obstacles we will need to jump over, as well as some entertainment along the way

Although I am normally resident at my bijou apartment on the shores of Lake Zurich, today I am posting from my Uncle's dacha overlooking Lake Baikal, near Irkutsk.

It's terribly chilly here, -23 degrees, and there's not much to see, as it's dark, but we're expecting some guests for dinner in a few minutes, and we're hoping they'll make the place a little warmer and brighter.

In fact, we're both quite delighted that the Russian Ladies' Figure Skating Team has chosen to pass up the chance to go to Vancouver, in order to stay with me and my Uncle for the weekend.

His reputation, it would seem, goes before him.

Based on a recent survey, 92% of the members are in Switzerland.


The rest (including me), should have a connection with Switzerland:
Planning to move to there, family or friends in Switzerland or similar connections.

I believe not. I know of few examples of expats who after they left CH are still active members on the EF. It is a sense of community and longing which I can understand makes people come back to this site. I often time asked me a question if one day I will return to my home country, will I still read posts on the EF? And the answer was big YES

I'm just over the border, in France. 5 minutes away as I had to leave my flat in Geneva.

But I'm happy to be in my parents' house as they are not here.

Not at the moment but we have a residence in Basel.
