Cailler gave my wife and son a chocolate bar each.

I had to 'fess up that it was a free promotion, in case my wife told anyone how I'd given her such a thoughtful gift ...

(Yeah, OK, I did buy her some expensive handmade chocs and other chick stuff, too.)

Lol! I find the "Sarah Palin Method" helpful; I just have to remember to not wash my hand.

Gave/got a (partly) quiet afternoon together, followed by dinner with friends at a local Tex-Mex eatery.

Was it Valentine's last weekend? Geez, I must have missed it, can't remember anything these days, GOG memory not what it used to be.

Are late Valentine's cards better than none at all?

Re: So what did you get (and gave) and how you spend the day after all?

I got a couple dozen roses.... a good two weeks before Valentine's!

I have one of those husbands who doesn't put much stock in being forced to give gifts on a certain holiday, which means I have learned to live without a terribly romantic Valentine's Day, but it's worth it to be surprised throughout the year.
