I've been trying to find hobby-style electronics shops in the Zug/Zurich area, although obviously Luzern or slightly further afield wouldn't be too much hassle. I've found a few websites but they mainly seem to be suppliers to industry and only list admin addresses, without even a web store. Gysi in Baar/Zug and Migros Bau Hobby doesn't really stock anything past a soldering iron (nothing to solder with it!). They tend to have a reasonable selection of DIY equipment and fittings but nothing in the way of components (PCB stuff - capacitors, chips, test equipment).

The obvious example from the US is Radio Shack, and I think Maplin is the UK equivalent. I know there are a couple of Swiss websites that do have online shops (including Farnell), and RS/Maplin might deliver from the UK. Does anyone know a shop that stocks components and equipment like this in-store?

Ah, right, I have already clicked around the site quickly and didn't see anything that suggested a normal shop-front... they are not just a distributor with a web store?

There is a store near the post office in Baar that deals in radio controlled vehicles.
They may have some of the stuff you need or steer you in the right direction.

Have a closer look at the Shop " bauelemente", there is everything you need

There's also a conrad in Emmen, just near the exit to the motorway.

I noticed a big hobby store in Opfikon, with a focus on model airplanes.
