If you're really desperate try the American Club of Zurich http://www.acz.ch/ or the American Womens Club of Zurich http://www.awczurich.org/

There's also the English Speaking Catholic Mission http://www.englishmission.ch/ if you want to hear that familiar twang (though now it's more and more being frequented by Catholic ex-pats from Africa and S. America).

I went a couple times at the beginning, only to discover that non-Californian Americans aren't generally my cup of tea.

Maybe you could create an "American only" event. Entrance would require proof of US Citizenship. We could also collect fingerprints and retinal scans and cross check them against a DHS database.

The American Women's Club in Zurich is probably the worst palce to be. They all fall right into the category of fake, phony, superficial trophy wife.
