Re: Ordinary people with special powers -Swiss healers

On a personal note, I absolutely did not believe in this, in fact had not ever heard about these healers...until back a few years ago when I had a severe bout of shingles and was in agony with impressive blisters. A French colleague "marched" me, almost against my will, to a friend of hers who was a "coupe-feu" (healing burns).
In a very modest house and refusing totally any payment, this old lady simply approached her hand to my back and thigh and it was like someone had turned on a hair dryer on full blast, but a cold blast.
The agonising pain disappeared instantly.

She had guessed rightly that the shingles would continue to spread over the next 48 hours and asked me to phone her when it did get bad again. I did. She simply told me not to worry about anything and put the phone down. 45 minutes later, I was at the dinner table with my family and the strong sensation of the "cold hair dryer" came to my lower back. This was so surreal that I felt overwhelmed and burst in tears.

I went to see my GP the next day and she told me: "Have you been to see a coupe-feu?" When I replied that I did and how she had guessed, she said that considering the size of the blisters she had seen on my last visit, they could not have healed that quickly with the cream she had prescribed and conventional medicine. Respect, man! I have since learnt to continue not to be gullible but also to be slightly less cynical when it comes to healers.

Re: Ordinary people with special powers -Swiss healers

I do have my own special powers... Sometimes, when the energy is aligned with my mood, I apply my hand on someone else' specific bottom location, and I usually immediately experience a slapping feeling on the cheek followed by a burning sensation!

This is a golden thread. Me? I trust nobody but discount nothing - anything is possible.

Usually though, the ones with the gift don't charge any money. If they charge money, 99.9% of the times they are charlatans.

The same lady is used by Geneva's severe burns unit, that's how good she is. Mind you, in Scotland too we have a severe Burns Unit...it's called Haggis and Whisky night!

Re: Ordinary people with special powers -Swiss healers

I read somewhere that a lot of babies have been conceived whilst their parents listened to Sexual Healing, and Barry White and Luther Vandross...

Must admit, I love that sort of music. Even though i am too old to conceive...

Oops, sorry McT - i was on the previous page. Glad you got healed. Even without Marvin Gaye. All a bit voodoo-esque to me.

Pats is now leaving the Forum to turn on U-Toob.....!!! Memories.... I always liked Gladys Knight and the Pips.
