Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

From what I read in this forum Coop Supercard and Migros's M-CUMULUS are similar to the loyalty programs. What about Carte Manor? and if its similar to the others, how I can get one? e.g. from the store?

Tomorrow I am going to the Migros and Coop stores to do some shopping and I want to get the supercard and M-Cumulus. I am not sure how I can ask for one in French can someone tell me how I should ask the cashiers for one?

The cumulus and the supercard are loyalty cards. You pick up points everytime your make a purchase. In turn when you have enough points you'll receive reduction coupons etc.
On the other hand the Manor card is a department store credit card.

I only have an M-Cumulus card of this bunch, and I got it by asking at the customer service desk (rather than a regular till) at my local Migros. I assume the others work the same way. I can't help with the French as my local Migros speaks Schwizerdütch.

I think they use the term s'inscrire for things like this here. Je voudrais m'inscrire pour la carte cummulus, svp. They do the sign up at the Info desk. You can take the form home with you and do it on your own, so all you need is that one phrase.

Re: Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

*I* have both Coop and Migros cards... well, I use my m-i-l's spare.

I think the Migros points are more "useful" as the return to you is money-off coupons to use at the store. Every few months m-i-l gives us coupons worth up to about 50chf - I much prefer this to looking at a catalog of things I may not ever even care about from Coop's super points.

This may mean that you also could ask, at the customer-service/info-counter
Puis-je avoir la fiche d'inscription pour la carte ....... , s'il vous plaît ?

equivalent to the Swiss German phrase
chöönt ich bitte sonen Ameldigs-Wisch für d'Supperkaard haa ?
chöönt ich bitte sonen Ameldigs-Wisch für 'Kumulus-Charte haa ?

Re: Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

Just as in English, there are loads of ways you can ask for the card in French. All the suggestions are helpful but if your French isn't too hot yet then this will get the message across perfectly well enough. Keep it simple at first!

Re: Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

Register on-line, I believe some of them like Coop, even have their page in English.

The Manor Card is a CC that gives some benefits if you shop in certain stores like Athleticum and of course Manor. They give you a bunch of reduction vouchers when you sign up (at least it's what happened to me) and I think 10 or 15% off your first shopping trip.

Occasionally, places like Manor also have very high discounts on specific days for holders of the card and these are advertised on bill boards inside the shop.

Re: Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

A good thing about the Coop Supercard is that you can use your points on the card (1 point = CHF -.01) for shopping the non-food sections of the Coop-City outlets. So that it is not just a price-reduction on particular articles but simply shopping with the card.

CORRECTION about the points inserted ! Sorry for mistyping

That would be nice, but unfortunately one point is only worth CHF 0.01 - i.e. normally 1% back on the value of the original purchase. And it works for both food and non-food sections, I think.

Re: Carte manor? Coop Supercard? Migros's M-CUMULUS?

From memory (a few years back) you needed to have a C permit or be CH to get the Manor credit card.

To save on cards in the wallet, you can put the Migros sticker on the front of the Coop card and it works just fine at the Migros. You receive the stickers at the same time as the card.

A reminder about the Coop card. You can order the model that allows it to be used as a ski card in 60+ ski resorts in CH.

Migros has a "smart" version of its Cumulus card, too -- the Cumulus-Ticket-Karte (presumably something analagous in French and Italian). The Co-op version is called Supercard Ticket.

Astonishingly, for once, the Migrop offerings are not identical -- although the two smart cards do much the same thing, the Cumulus-Ticket-Karte costs CHF 5.00 (once-off) while the Supercard Ticket is currently free. The standard Cumulus and Supercard are still free.

Right you of course are about the 0.01 per point. BUT rather unfortunately, the food sections normally are NOT open for payments by points. Only on certain specific days

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that everyone who has a Cumulus card is automatically a member of the cooperative. The appication form for the Cumulus card is also (inextricably) an application for membership of the cooperative. I believe.
