Re: Clothes Swap Party

This must be one of those insidious gender differences. I can't imagine this would work with a bunch of guys. Even if we didn't all dress exactly the same.

Nil, are you coming to Stylemixers tomorrow?
Well, it is not because I don't want to, but my private jet is out of town... And I don't think I'll make it on time by car...

Maybe a raincheck in Barca?

Re: Clothes Swap Party

I totally agree. The thing I miss most about being in Basel is lack of fun yard sales and large, good, cheap second-hand stores for clothing and goods. There are a few stores scattered around. Consignment stores are rare for better clothes. People seem to just unload their stuff in those bags one leaves at the street, or perhaps they give them directly to friends. Anyway, I don't know how to recover money from clothing that I have paid for and that is in new or new new shape. Zurich is a little far for me to shlep dozens of clothing items, but I sure do hope you manage to pull together a clothing swap.

Hmm. You're right, I've never heard of guys doing this. Perhaps the clothes are not in good enough shape to pass on, or perhaps they give this job to the women in their lives, or perhaps they just can't be bothered. I'd love to know.

Re: Clothes Swap Party

Just want to say - great idea!

I was at the same afternoon-second hand-sale, was funny and very useful!
My friend bought a Pepe jeans almost new for only 20 €....

So, that works!

Have a good time!

Re: Clothes Swap Party

So, I just got back home from the Stylemixers clothes swap. Decent turnout of women (all younger and skinnier than me). The problem with the Stylemixers swap was that all clothing is donated and there is no selling allowed. That means there is no motivation for bringing one's best stuff that otherwise might go to a consignment store. So, I held back two boxes of adult clothing and one of girl's clothing that are in new or near new condition and that I would like the option of either swapping or selling. So I am still interested in hosting a party at my home (without the CHF 20 entry fee). I have a couple of other women interested. If we could pull together maybe eight women, we could do this. I need to hear from interested women, is it better to do weekday afternoon, weekday evening, or weekend? I'd like to encourage a variety of women to come, including boomers and larger women (or those who have just lost weight). Folks should bring their best stuff to trade or sell. I'm ready to do this soon. Anybody else?

Re: Clothes Swap Party

I would be interested, sundays are the best. Have tons of clothes, also shoes and handbags that I'm not using.

Weren't you the one looking for some second-hand motorcycle clothing for the girlfriend? Perhaps this is your change!

Well, for example, I do not enjoy getting my kit off on front of a lot of guys
