| | Clothes Swap Party
Hi Girls,
I have so much clothes I don't wear anymore and I was thinking to do something I used to do in Montreal years ago.
We were a bunch of girls who met 1-2 per year for a Swap/shop/auction our second hand clothes.
Here are exemple of the way we did it:
A- I have a skirt I don't want but I love your top, lets swap.
B- I have a skirt for 5-10chf, you buy it
C- I have a skirt let's begin the auction at 1 chf, who said more?
The auction evening is very fun! A bunch of girls betting on clothes (with drinks and snacks around) it is a good laugh.
We were used to take all or % of the money made during the night to give to charity. We can keep it for ourself if it is the majority's feeling.
But if you are like me and have a load of clothes you don't want anymore and want to get a good girl's evening out of it, let me know!
I want to get your opinion before to create a proper event.
Nil

First thing that occurs to me... you would kind of all need to be the same size for this to work.
I like the idea - it sounds like loads of fun in principle - but that's something to keep in mind.

In theory, its a fantastic idea!
But sorry to be so negative about it upfront, I have a feeling that it will only work amongst friends with similar tastes (styles, lifestyle) and sizes. Why I said that is because I used to do it with 3 other girl friends back home. Money is not involved but we love swapping clothes/bags. It worked really well because everyone was on the same wavelenghth about the purpose of this till one day, a friend brought another girl to join in. That girl came with really bad clothes (and she doesnt dress like that normally!!)- frumpy looking blouses, jeans belonging to another century, and went away hogging 2 DvF dresses.
Keep me in the loop though. We can always tweak ideas and suggestions! Good luck!

Size doesn't matter...
Lets say I am size 8 and MathNut as well, and Pussycat is size 12 and Brocoli 14, etc...
We can manage the group according of the girls size. If you are all in the same range +/- a size or 2, it shouldn't be a problem. And if you don't find/ get rid of you clothes, at least you had a good time!
When I say girls I mean US, GIRLS....... Ladies! |

With the auction it doesn't really matter if you don't have nice clothes, because no one will buy it! |

I really like the auction and proceeds go to charity idea though |

Let me know if anything goes ahead.

I'd definitely be interested!! I think the auction idea is the best way....especially as my friend just culled my wardrobe so if I auctioned my clothes I'd have nothing left to wear
Mind you I have a lot of jewellery and bags to bring.

Sounds good! If some girls from outside Basel want to join, we could see if we can find some space for the nights between us?
