I miss phoning up my friend at he went past the bottom of the garden on the
way back in from the fishing grounds, asking him what he had that day, and
scooting down to the harbour to pick it up from him.

Pulling up at the petrol (gas) station, having the car filled, oil and water checked, air in tyres, windows cleaned, and paying the bill....all without having to get out of the vehicle!

Shopping clothes in panic on sundays after 18.
Definitely a next day dry cleaning service

Withdrawing money without worrying about whether I will be charged for this or not

What I miss most is a city centre (I live in Geneva) that is full of life and has attractive shops run by competent individuals and families and not just
-- cheap chain stores that are the same all over the world and providing no know-how
-- expensive jewellers
-- expensive watchshops
-- yet more banks that chase the quaint pubs, cafés and restaurants that used to be there.
