My name is Sam. I've been here in Switzerland since 7 months. I really want to learn german and I believe that movies are the best way to improve language. Please help me, if any one knows where i can watch german movies with English subtitles

If you have R2 (ie European) DVDs, even ones bought in English speaking countries, you might want to check the language options. A fair proportion of mine have a German language track (and of those that don't, almost all have German subtitles). This has the added advantage that you know the movie already, so know what they are supposed to be saying.

i think the best way to learn german is to listen to german music. thats how learned english.

From Ricardo I recently bought an entire season of an american tv program I am somewhat familiar with but had not seen. For 20 Francs + 5 shipping, I got 16 x 45 minute episodes with choice of spoken English (original), German (Dub), French (Dub) along with choice of English, German or French subtitles.

I watch with German spoken with English subs, while getting in some km's on the crosstrainer.

Once I get through the first season I will buy the next season of the same series or pick another. Here are some examples:

Weeds 248 minutes for.. 22 Francs!

Desperate Housewives 15 Francs!

Plenty of SCI-FI... I think I'll try madmen next, currently only a French spoken version on offer on Ricardo.
