Quick question, what is the minimum amount that I have to buy for them to ship it for free?

A little explanation: I live in Geneva so I prefer to buy groceries in France, it is much cheaper. But the heavy stuff I'd really like to get them at home, I don't have an elevator.
You always pay, it is no longer for free... but you often get emails that for 2 weeks it is for free etc

If you order consecutively with less than 3 weeks apart you get 3 CHF discount on delivery

And lately they also elt you pay delivery with superpoints very often

Cheers,
K

Deep breath, deep breath, my dear. Alas, sometimes it's the Swiss manner.

I read their fine print and it does say that everything is subject to stock at the moment of packing rather than ordering. That's why they send you the first order email followed by a definitive one upon packing. It's their "escape" route. My sympathies are with you!
Yeah, I know they are "legally" right but still find it unacceptable...

I mean, if each time I stress wehther or not what I order will come what is the point?

Plus I understand this if 10 days where between my order and their delivery, but with an order plced at 10 pm and delivered at 1 pm the next day (i.e. about 12 hrs from order to packing) if they mess it up, they have a serious logistic issue....

Anyway... enough said, will not change it, need to live with it or not use it....

Thanks for empathy though, appreciate it!!!!

K

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

It depends.....both are............sometimes migro gives you a better deal and other times it is Coop. You just have to compare prices all the time

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

I have just started using these services, since our car has had some issues and there's no way in hell I'm carying all the heavy stuff from downtown to our home. I made yesterday my frst order with Migros, so far I have been very pleased with Coop but wanted to see the competition work, my order is due to arrive today between 17:00 - 20:00 . So far, I didn't like that I had to pay 11 CHF for delivery (Coop was free until a few days ago for over 200CHF spent) and 5 CHF on top of that for chiller bags. Fortunately I'll be at home for the delivery so they won't charge me for the frozen goods box.
On the plus side, I found some stuff I couldn't find in Coop, but that is always the case vice versa as well. All in all, I find them quite similar...I think for produce I'll still try to stick to the market and the rest well...whichever has the best offers

So I wrote to them and response...

"Sorry but the product was no longer in stock when we packed your goods"

and nothing else...

Made me furios so wrote back a bit nastier...

Let's see...

Lack of empathy for the consumer in these situations makes me angrier than the problem itself....

K
Hi,

I apologise for the lack of empathy. The problem you're describing - which we call "nullers" - is in my eyes the biggest customer experience challenge one faces as an online grocery store. There is no way around the fact that it is a terrible inconvenience for the customer. Unfortunately I can't offer here an immediate solution - but our logistics and disposition teams work continuously to limit or avoid them - and we in marketing look for ways to at least better communicate if there's a missing article. If you'd like us to check into the situation again for you, please write the customer care team: info@coopathome.ch, with "English Forum - Nullers" in the title and your last order number.

Best regards,
Ellen (on behalf of coop@home)

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

After trying them both, I must say I ultimately support coop more. Maybe because until the 16th of January it was free delivery, or maybe because you don't have to send back the refrigeration bags or pay a 30 CHF deposit if you have frozen stuff too (I was there for delivery so I didn't need to, but the concept annoys me). I do feel Coop don't properly use their bags, sometimes you have like 3 products per bag, but I do like the option (that I will try tonight) of giving your pet bottles to them. It's very useful for me, since it means I no longer have to go myself to whichever store has PET recycling options. Uh, and their freebies are nice, I am now waiting for a free tiny bottle of wine and some candy. Yay!

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

i'm a coop customer basically because i know the branded products better. what i like best about the service is that i can recycle all the packaging they send me as well as PET through them as well - it's such a relief to not worry about how to throw something away.
i saw this week that they have started to translate their site in english as well - isn't healthy competition wonderful!
i appreciate their on time deliveries in the hour selected.
i have also had items that didn't appear - but i have to run in for bread or salad in any case so it is no sweat.
i have lost my 'favourite' list though - and was quite miffed about that.
my only real gripe is that they classify mrs. balls as a british product and that stings my south african pride
online grocery chopping have freed up my saturday and was my discovery of the year in 2010, i brag about it to anyone that would listen, haha!

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

Hey, quick question: can I give them back the bags they bring the products in? It would be a shame to throw them away but I don't know what to do with them...and the cardboards too?

I give everything back - the freezer bag with the cartons etc - they wait for the delivery guy outside the door with the PET bag...it's a charm!

Re: on-line shop: migros or coop?

Hi,

My wife and I were recently visiting Zurich, Switzerland, and she really liked a certain Migros product, "Raspberry Tea Time," or a generic Migros tea bag product. Is there anyway to order that online?

Thanks!!

They do take the bottles but require you to put them in a PET bag (ask for one and they'll leave it with you).
