TOP TIP,,,, I just leave my i/phone ear pieces in when ever I'm forced to take public transport.. then people just THINK I'm either talking on the phone or singing.

EDIT:.. it's also pretty effective at keeping the panhandlers-gypsies-bums-vagrants away.

Re: Weird habits

I've always thought bluetooth headsets have to be one of the best things for people who talk to themselves in public - just remember to clip it on your ear, you don't actually need a phone ...

btw, Moomins!

why just at home? I think it's perfectly reasonable to take my Kindle to restaurants. What else am I supposed to do when on business trips and eating alone - talk to myself?
What are you currently reading on your Kindle?
I've just spent over an hour on Amazon wading through the rubbish and I have only had one post from my 'what are you currently reading' request
I need to load up my Kindle for travelling next week.
I do so miss English bookshops, where I could at least read the odd paragraph to see if the book is worth buying.

this is not weird at all but ........ my alarm clock ( altho digital ) has to be set as if at a number position on a dial

i..e. 6:35 6:40 6:45 never 6.37 , 6:42 .. that is just WRONG:

I am the opposite. No even minutes (so 6:42 and 6:40 are out) and also no times which end with a 5. 6:23, 6:47, 6:49 are acceptable.

Re: Weird habits

Habits are often a repetition of our past and shrink new possibilities in life! My weird habit is to break damaging habits in my life, in order to create SPACE!!!!

Re: Weird habits

I also like to take a different seat in a 'regular' setting (eg, meeting room where we have weekly staff meetings) just to keep people out of their comfort zones ... I feel people tend to be more honest when they're unsettled, or at least can't lie as effectively.

Re: Weird habits

I don't have weird habits...

But I do stuff like talking THE WHOLE TIME! If there is somebody around, I talk to that person. If I'm alone, I talk to my self (some times one must speak to somebody intelligent). I talk to objects, subjects, animals, anything.

I do silent karaoke while listening to music on my i Pod, I laugh out loud in public, I repeat the last word of some sentences my partner says to me (he does the same)

Everything has to be straight, in rows, rectangle... Not clean washing though... don't care about folding washing at all...

When I have to stand around, I tend to stand on my left foot rather than my right foot...

Re: Weird habits

I like being on my own, I love to walk by the lake for hours listening to music.
I find yellow clothing quite ugly and will not do anything in 3's.
I'm fascinated by white roses and will always stop to look for them if I'm near a florist.

I love being on my own too and still find I don't have enough time to myself even though I have very part-time-ish work.

Am superstitious about getting up from bed 'correctly' - with right foot on the right side of the bottom right corner and left foot on the left side of the same corner - so that I cannot say I got up on the wrong side of the bed. Not as easy as one might think, what with the dog whipping around licking my knees or knocking into my legs carrying her silly toy slipper.

Ever since my other half said he did not like to wear green, orange and yellow, I have been wearing them quite often.

When at gas station I make sure that either price or liters displayed on the fuel dispenser is a natural number.

All my novels HAVE to be in alphabetical order.

The rest of the books, ordered by subject.

Re: Weird habits

I still love white roses and walking on my own for hours.
I collect vintage watches from fleamarkets and beautiful words and I much prefer books to society.
I carry a little note book with me to write down thoughts and ideas like pieces of a puzzle I'm working on in my mind.

Re: Weird habits

Huh ..... I`ve often thought of this old thread .....about someone here who hangs washing out using only set colours of pegs!

I catch myself counting things - really stupid things. No matter what I`m doing I seem to be counting. Caught myself at 37 while stacking firewood .... WHY am I counting the firewood? "Stop that!" I say to myself. And then am counting again. Afterwards I don`t remember what the figure reached was, so why do I count what I`m doing?

Possibly it could serve some purpose if I could tell exactly how many logs of firewood there is in the stack

Probably not related but during my OCD periods, I tend to do that.

Re: Weird habits

When I have different chores and things to move around within the house (or as of recently, the place of work), I find myself mentally calculating, the quickest, shortest route and minimal number of times I have to go up and down stairs and different combinations I need to utilise, in order to get everything accomplished .......... before I start and adapting as I go; but this is normal - no?
