This is a great thread. Hilarious.
Both socks before shoes. In a restaurant can't stand to sit with my back to the room. Segregate items in grocery cart so that I can load heavy items at the bottom of bag or cart. Well, natch. Undies and bras must be folded all the same and lined up neatly in the underwear drawer. Must have 2 toothbrushes at all times - can't use the same one in the evening that I used in the morning. Have to wash my hands first thing when I get to work. Only eat ice cream directly from the shop and never bring it home from the grocery store because by the time you get home it has started to melt slightly. And then it would have to be tossed. And I avoid any food that has a certain texture. Especially foods eaten cold that tend to be just a bit slimy: oysters, sushi, dried sausage that's too moist, smoked salmon, cold custard, matjes herring, ceviche ...

yeah, I'm with LIB on this….don't know where to start tbh
I have to ALWAYS be covered over my ear when i sleep, no matter the season and how thick the covers are, otherwise i can't fall asleep.
When i am back from outside, i have to wash hands 3 times [London, always always always], but other places [like Switzerland] once OR twice, it really depends what i did and how long i've been outside.
Books on my shelves are ordered by height, if the shelf is full of 'em then highest from ends towards the shortest in the middle
My black clothing mostly has to be on the separate pile/side in my closet.
I like and tend to mix my coffee and milk to a specific colour tone.
I never wash hair and shower at the same time, unless there is no other option.
that's just the tip of the iceberg |

My husband and I play canasta often.
Obviously, the cards are ordered by number, the highest being on the right.
But red cards come before black cards, always.

oh oh there is one that usually horrifies most fans of the product
I loooooove to drink Coke that's [also] not bubbly anymore, so i often shake my [pointing out that i don't make everyone "suffer"] bottle on purpose or don't mind at all drinking the last remains of the 2-3 days old one.

Ha! I never saw this thread before, but it is definitely full of some folks with quasi- (if not full blown!) OCD.
My son, (he gets it from his father, not me, as I am completely normal), CANNOT make a right hand turn if he hasn't counted an even number of telephone poles prior to making the turn. HE WILL DRIVE AROUND AND AROUND THE BLOCK until he can count the proper number of telephone poles before he can turn into someone's driveway. He is a VERY weird kid, but we love him anyway. |

One of my weird(est) habits is reading stuff while using a toilet. Today in Kaufland's loo I just found a sticker on pissoire "am besten Wassersystem in Grossbritannien". It has jus made me thinking of Thomas Crapper and his amazing invention that contributed positively to population of the whole world. Thou shall not misuse cr@p word in vain! Happy flushing peeps |

| | Re: Weird habits | Quote: | | | | | MrVertigo's other weird habit is reviving old threads. | | | | | This one deserves the Lazarus treatment....as you can read the many weird habits members share here.
Another one is reading the last 2-3 pages of a book before buying.....but maybe I already posted this one 2 years ago. Another habit, I tend to repeat myself. Did I tell that already?

I thought I was strange....
I shy away from social gatherings and prefer to serve the food at parties than talk to people. Yet, I like being there
I like very colorfully written notebooks and will use a new color for new ideas and themes.
I use everything until it falls apart (electronics, phone, car, appliances)
I can't throw away bread (keep it for the birds)

Another weird one that generates questions from friends: when having a nice steak fries .....I don't touch the steak before I finish all the fries!
Because I hate cold fries.
