Maybe it really shouldnt be.

*channels "mean Peg" or maybe "fluffy" or "PMS Peg"...*

I REALLY wish ya'll would stop trundling out that picture.

Almost every time someone posts it, I ask where it was found. One or two of those gals looks familiar to me and if they are who I think they are, they were participating in a private event that was intended to allow them the freedom to dress how they like to sunbathe and swim WITHOUT judgmental jerks making nasty comments.

I'm sure that everyone on here has some picture or other that they'd rather the general public not see. How would "you" (ALL of you who has posted it with judgmental intent) like it if you or someone you care about came across a picture of you which was taken at what was supposed to be a private event but is now used in some of the most degrading and insulting manners possible?

Exception in my repost of it being that I'm not saying anything particular about the suitability of the suits, the figures of the ladies in question, or anything like that...

We took the ferry from Lausanne over to Evian to check out their public pools/lake access over on the French side.

Hugely surprised by giant signs forbidding regular bathing trunks, only Speedo-type bathing suits allowed in all of the pools and on the water slide.

Needless to say, my son and husband would rather undergo dental surgery than be seen in a Speedo, so those two were only allowed to swim in the lake.

Is this a French thing? What is the reason that swim trunks are forbidden?
Yes, the correct thing to wear are NOT "trunks" but slips

like this and not the burka-style "trunks" in fashion in recent years !

Men's underwear are not slips. This is a slip:

Sorry that you feel this way Peg, but if they are indeed who you think they are and are at a private event, someone at that event betrayed their trust by reposting it and it has spread like wild fire. Or the camera got stolen. Who knows?

PS: I found it on Google. This means its free for all.

Perhaps then we should stop with the judgemental attidues and photos of everyone. I have to admit, it does get tedious to see post and thread after thread picking on some person's personal defect or clothing choices and everyone's superior attitude to those pictured.

Of course someone "betrayed their trust"... it's one of those "fat girl is like a moped" type situations. PLENTY of guys show up to these private events on the hope of an easy lay. Yes, some of the guys who show are truly into ladies who are built like that but not all... and some of them feel that the best way to prove to their "buds" that they don't really like girls like that is to be complete asshole tools and post such pictures with such comments all over the internet.

Just because you found it on Google does not mean that the people depicted INTENDED it to be as it is presented.

Why the hell do people think that "it's on the internet" is synonymous with "it's ok to be an insensitive jerk"?

"Free for all" means that you can be as mean as you want? Lemme know which of the Basel folks you've "friended" on FB so I can make sure they don't have any pictures of me... after all, those pics are on the internet also.

I think you are over reacting Peg. I am not about to justify and apologise for my use of it. Just because you have certain issues with size / body image (and thats from my understanding of your posts - and I am happy to be corrected), doesnt mean everyone's got to tip toe around this and face the possibility of your wrath whenever they post a picture that might hit a nerve. You've made your displeasure known, which is fair enough but do remember that everyone is entitled to their right to freedom of speech too.

By the way, the dog in that picture you used earlier, wanted me to tell you that its an extremely unflattering picture of him and you're a meanie for using it.

Now... back to sexy speedos.

Apparently I wasn't clear enough...

I think I know those girls. They are not anonymous, they are not models who got paid for posing for that picture, they are women who went someplace to have a good time.

How would YOU like it if YOU (or your hubby or your kid) found a picture of YOU on the internet that someone is making fun of?

You are mistaken.

I do not have issues with my body, I have issues with OTHER PEOPLE'S issues about MY body.

Is a lisp ok to make fun of? That's correctable with therapy.
Is being pigeon toed or snaggle toothed ok to make fun of? Those are correctable as well.

Why is it soooooo acceptable to make fun of fat people?

A f'n YEAR later and ya'll STILL don't get the picture. It is NOT okay to make fun of other people, period the end. You seemed really nice, I have to say I'm shocked.
