Re: Tattoos and Piercings in Switzerland

What I want to know is; how did that piercing become known as the Prince Albert? What's the connection?

* cringe * why do I have a feeling I'm going to regret asking this question...

Re: Tattoos and Piercings in Switzerland

5 piercings in my ears, 1 in my nipple and 2 tattoos. All the piercings are now gone but the two tattoos are still there and very very relevant to who I am. I will get another soon with the name of my son in Thai.

The two tatts that i have, have both been symbols of Buddhism taken from photographs that I have taken in far flung places... One is on my arm and reminds me to be nice to people....

I don't know if it's true ( obviously ) but the story I've heard is THE Prince Albert had "a" prince albert.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_...ry_and_culture ( open this wiki at your own risk.. NSFA... not suitable for anything)

EDIT::: These ersatz tales—which included the notion that Prince Albert invented the piercing that shares his name in order to tame the appearance of his large penis in tight trousers—are widely circulated as urban legend. No historical proof of their veracity has been located independent of Malloy's assertions.

Re: Tattoos and Piercings in Switzerland

This thread has convinced me to finally go and get my tattoo done. I've had the design for ages and the quotes from people who have said that as long as it had meaning then you wouldn't regret it have convinced me

Hopefully will get an appointment soon before I bottle it

Yeah, me too. I've wanted to tattoo a tiny Forgetmenot beside my hip bone, the meaning for me is that if someone gets down there to see it, they'd better not forget me... is that deep enough?

Good luck and make sure you get other opinions to make sure you pick the right artist for you... professional, clean, other satisfied customers, etc. I believe if you've wanted a specific tattoo for a long time, you likely won't regret it. It's those not well thought out, spur of the moment ones
which will probably leave you unhappy over time...

Well it's going to be my daughter's name on my foot with a design I made myself blended in with the name...hard to describe but it's something I sketched when she was still in my tummy. When I get it done I'll post it up so everyone can see it and probably tell me it looks like poo

Sweet. I'm sure it'll look lovely. .

A friend of mine just got that done with her two daughters' names, swirling up the outside of her left leg from the ankle bone, she too designed it herself.

Re: Tattoos and Piercings in Switzerland

Wow, just did the math... when I was 16 (16 years ago), a friend asked me "If I paid for it, would you get a belly piercing? I think it would look great on you." I agreed to and never regretted it. I had to remove it a few months ago during my pregnancy. I will get it re-done soon.

My dad, of course flipped out because of the piercing and warned me
"If you ever get a tattoo, you'd better find a new place to live"

Pretty stong words for a rebel teenie. At the age of 18, I saw a tattoo I most definitely wanted to have but remembering my dad's threat... I waited... And I waited 5 years and 1 week before Canada day to get my one and only tattoo. A representation of my heritage and my love for all things German

The most amusing tattoo I have seen is Dave Gormans - on Googlewhack - which reminds me I need to get the DVD back from the Brother-in-Law and watch it again!

All depends on colouring, shading, size. The upper inner arm (between elbow and armpit?) will prob hurt I'm afraid but as it's not too big then it wont hurt for long.

Mine took about 3hrs ouch.

Apparently the foot really hurts am I right? Something to do with no muscle and the skin is close to the bone...

Can't be worse than childbirth though can it

I have had both my feet tattooed (not covered, though), and yes...they hurt worse than the others I have (back, belly)...when he got down to the side of the foot (on the inside near the arch), it was amazingly painful. (I haven't given birth yet...but I can guess that no...it won't be THAT painful!) They hurt less if you get them where there is more fat to cushion the pain (so to speak). Right on the bone...or it seems right on dense muscle can also be quite painful! For the person that is thinking of the inner upper arm, I would also say that that will probably hurt quite a bit but then again there are more painful areas...and as was already stated, if the design is quite small, the pain won't last for too long...and in all honesty, the pain is all part of the process (and memory!) of getting one.
