Great, now I'm homesick for my Winterthur...

(even worse than usual, since I've had to cancel this month's visit )

I just love the area around Adelboden. I have many photos, and have climbed the Engstligenalp so many times. a wonderful area. We often spent our Summer holidays in Adelboden. I think I know every walking and mountain path that exists in the area.

I have almost exactly the same photos as your second and third ones, and one of a napping cow (or bull, I can't tell):
I was there visiting a friend from Frutigen in September '09. She also had a holiday chalet in Adelboden. Sadly she passed away just a few weeks later. Engstligenalp holds a special memory to me as it was the last place that I visited with her and her husband.

Double rainbow outside our apartment in Luzern. The sky light up as if there was a fire that night. It was pretty awesome

I really like the Lorze river that's fed by the Zugersee in Cham. Every season presents us with a new picture. The sunsets and meadows, too.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone else would like to show pictures of where they live.
Locales are endlessly fascinating.

Thanks, Bertrand. I'd like to see pictures of your village. Overall views as well as details such as quaint metallic hanging signs, well-maintained traditional houses and pretty shop fronts.

Re: Show me your neighbourhood (especially if it's not famous!)

Does anyone have pictures to show of their neighbourhood in autumn? I love the light in this season although these few days are a little foggy.

This looks like an off-shoot of the 'Post your pictures of Switzerland' and 'Which Swiss town/city you think is the most beautiful?' threads.

Thinking I never seem to find the opportunity to visit Schaffhausen, Neuchatel, etc, I wonder about the neighbourhood where you live and what you find endearing, your favourite bakery, restaurant or corner of your neighbourhood park.

Here are pictures of Cham (Zug canton, 3.5km from Zug town) to start off:
Here the place where I grew up, Zürich-Wollishofen

The yellow building to the right is the building where I went to school during four years, and all classrooms open to the south/southwest with a splendid view onto the lake and the alps

and here Adliswil

2002-2009

and here Glattbrugg

the window on the first floor farthest to the right is the one in which I am sitting right now !

True, Glattbrugg is total "suburbia", but with two S-Bahn stations, one tram-station and three bus-stations within 6 minutes from my apartment, I am at the airport in 10 minutes, in HB in 12 minutes, in Stadelhofen in 15 minutes, and from December this year in 5 minutes in the Glattzentrum !

The first part of my drive to work - taken I might add with my phone through the windscreen, hence the hazy quality.

Re: Show me your neighbourhood (especially if it's not famous!)

here some photos from where I grew up, and was domiciled most of my live

with the small old church to the left and a traditional restaurant to the right

our national flag

our BIG church

and here to the right the building where I was in school for 4 years
-
not always nice times, but mostly good memories

this is where school started. Fountain pens not yet permitted, you had to use pens and take the ink out of that "hole" to the right on the top of your 1900 vintage slanting desk. Mixed memories to be polite, not least made worse by one of my best schoolfriend getting run over by a truck not far away and dying away within a fortnight

and here the view from the area of the big church towards downtown

and here accross the "Red Factory" (Rote Fabrik, incl the Ziegel-oh-Lac) onto the lake
